Come and learn how to make comfort blankets for breast cancer patients. Participants should have a
basic/beginner’s knowledge of crocheting including understanding how to make a “chain”, “double crochet
stitch”, and “slip stitch”. All supplies will be provided by All Shades of Pink (ASOP), Inc. ASOP is every
first and third Wednesday of each month.

breast cancer patients!
Learn how to crochet (for beginners and experienced crotchetier), come and take part in this
great goodwill project and make All Shades of Pink comfort blankets for breast cancer
patients. You will receive instruction and all the supplies needed to crochet a comfort blanket!
The more blankets created, the more breast cancer patients will receive this symbol of love
and comfort during a difficult time in their life.

Evelyn Cole Senior Activity Center will take a trip to John E Howard Senior Activity (JEHSAC) for an
interactive Artwork and Printmaking Demonstration by artist George H. Smith. The Nutrition Bus will be
rerouted and lunch will be served at JEHSAC. Those that do not ride the Senior Nutrition Bus must sign
up for MNCPPC transportation no later than Friday, May 16. Seats are limited so sign up early.

SENIOR NUTRITION PROGRAM
The Senior Nutrition Program (a nutritious hot
lunch) is offered Monday through Friday featuring
a healthy, well-balanced meal. Individuals who
are 60 & better can reserve a meal by contacting
our Nutrition Manager, Annie Allen or by
contacting the Department of Family Services
Nutrition Office at 301-265-8475.
You must register by 1pm the day before you
would like a meal, register by 1pm Friday for a
Monday meal.
The actual donation is $3.00. Please donate as
much as you can. If you need to cancel your meal,
please do so at two (2) days in advance with Ms.
Annie Allen, Nutrition Manager. Please bring exact
change to cover your donation.
Note: There will be no lunch program when Prince
George’s County schools have a delayed opening
or closed due to inclement weather conditions.
Reminder: Lunch is subject to change depending
on the Office on Aging’s schedule.

INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY
If the weather outside is frightful, M-NCPPC typically follows the decisions of Montgomery and Prince
George’s County Governments in announcing closings and delays related to weather related

to determine if the center is closed due to adverse weather conditions.
