Dinsdale
Automotive,
Bosselman
Retail,
and
Bosselman Energy held a Blood
Drive on July 13th to help
offset the decreased number
of blood donors the Red Cross
experiences in the summertime.
The Red Cross is experiencing
82,000 fewer donations than
even last summer. Over 40
donors provided blood to help
patients in need. Sixteen
volunteers from each of the three
companies helped run the drive, while
snacks were provided by Frito Lay and
Dean Foods. Each donor was entered
to win a prize package.

DANGER SEASON SUMMARY
For the third season in a row, the Nebraska Danger won the
Intense Conference Championship, advancing to face the
Sioux Falls Storm in the United Bowl. Although they hung
right with the Storm throughout the first half, even gaining
the lead at one point, the Danger fell short of the elusive
United Bowl victory. The Storm had an impressive second
half to end the game at 62-27. Despite ending on a low, the
Danger boasted many highs throughout the season. They
were undefeated at home as the team utilized the Indoor
Football League MVP, Jameel Sewell and Offensive Rookie
of the year, Waymon James. Five members of the team
also received All-IFL Honors, including Waymon James,
Jameel Sewell, and Darius Savage on the First Team, and
Trevis Turner and Justin Edison on the Second Team. The
Danger finished 11-5, the same record as 2014.
ALZHEIMER’S FUNDRAISER
Pump & Pantry and the Travel Center
teamed up to raise money for the
Alzheimer’s Foundation. They sold
Forget-Me-Nots throughout the month
of June, to total $28,465 raised. This
was nearly $9,000 more than they
raised last year. Congratulations to
Sales Associates Daniel Erpelding and Ramon De Jesus
who sold the most Forget-Me-Nots for Pump & Pantry and
Bosselman Travel Center, respectively.
“AMERICAN HONEY”
The Bosselman Travel Center served as a shooting
location for the film “American Honey” at the beginning
of June. “American Honey” centers around a young girl
named Star who is on a wild adventure across America
with a group of rowdy kids selling magazines. The cast
includes Shia Labeouf, Riley Keough, and Sasha Lane.
The Travel Center was chosen because it portrayed the
ideal Midwest truck stop for a couple of scenes in the
film. “American Honey” is set to release later this year.
“BOSSELMAN PROUD”
FEATURED EMPLOYEE
Dorothy Brockman has worked
at the same Pump & Pantry
location for 30 years. She started
her journey with Bosselman
Companies the day the Burwell
location opened and has been
a beloved cashier there ever
since. Dorothy enjoys getting to
know her customers personally,
especially the kids that she gets
to see grow up in the Burwell
Community. This is reflected in
her advice to fellow employees.
“Always remember to speak to your customers, treat
everyone the same, and always talk to them so they know you
appreciate them. Remember, they pay your wages! Laugh
and joke and have fun with them, and they will always come
back for more,” said Dorothy.
Dorothy’s favorite part about working at the Pump is that
people remember her when they come through Burwell, even
if they haven’t been there in years. She said she must have
treated them right if they still remember her.
Dorothy has several hobbies outside of working at Pump
& Pantry that include mowing her big yard, working with
flowers, taking care of Banty Chickens, and grabbing coffee
with friends. She has been married for 59 years and has two
sons, a daughter-in-law, two granddaughters, and two greatgrandsons.
CUSTOMER COMMENT
A driver lost a grease fitting on the throw-out bearing. Greg
fixed it without doing a major job, saving him thousands of
dollars, and the tech found water in the oil when checking
dope and changed the rear end oil. The driver was shocked
that someone cared for him that didn’t have to. He stated
that Greg and Marcy treated him like family and he wants
our company to know that he will bring all his service to
us, and talk to his company, Mike Shelton, about bringing
40 additional trucks to us. Kudos to Greg & Marcy at the
Ruther Glen Boss Shop!
