130 YEARS

In 1885 the first skyscraper is built in Chicago, USA.
The Statue of Liberty arrives in the New York Harbor.
Vehicles are still mostly horse-drawn, but Karl Benz
produces the first automobile. Most children leave school
at quite an early age to go to work. Author Mark Twain
publishes the Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.
In Sweden, Carl Theodor Ericson establishes a hat store
that is the direct origin of CTH Ericson AB.
Much has happened since than; many trends have come
and gone. Hats have been high, and hats have been flat.
Check patterns have varied in size, and some years hats
have even gone out of style.
During the 130 years of CTH Ericson we have made caps
and hats for adults and children, women and men. We will
continue in this proud tradition and at the same time keep
moving forward into the future. Working at CTH Ericson
means you need to consider two different perspectives:
on the one hand our heritage, and on the other hand the
future. We are always looking ahead to create new styles
for tomorrow, yet always also seeking inspiration from our
rich heritage and history.
Our collections are usually based on classic models,
fabrics, and styles, but we use materials adapted for the
needs of today’s customers and our environment. We
mainly buy fabrics and accessories produced in Europe,
and we manufacture our caps and hats at a few select
factories in the EU that can supply the very high quality
we want our hats to live up to.

CTH 1885
CTH 1885 is our newest collection. We have carefully
turned some of our favorite styles into something contemporary. Classic design and quality are the cornerstones
of CTH, and this collection is a continuation of what we
have created over the past century.
We cannot get enough of tweed. If you also love tweed,
you will appreciate the fact that we this season use hand
woven Harris Tweed fabrics from the Outer Hebrides in
Scotland. You will find the Harris Tweed fabrics in styles
like Henning, George, Ian, Philip, and Regina.
We also love hats and caps in waxed cotton. They are
perfect for rainy and windy autumn days. Earflaps and
fleece lining keep you warm and provide comfort. Look
for the styles Ben, Ian, and Neil, all in the fabric “Waxed
Cotton.”
What’s more, you will also find knitted beanies, cloche hat,
and berets in this autumn/winter collection.

If you’re looking for a classic solid-color flat cap or newsboy cap with or without earflaps, then you should look
through our CTH Classic collection. In the collection you
will also find different kinds of baseball caps in wool fabric
with earflaps.
