Interested in serving on the board or a committee See anyone of these committee or board members Welcome Shooters The California State Trapshooting Association board, directors, and I cordially invite you to our 2015 State Championships hosted by the Coon Creek Trap & Skeet. I enjoy the camaraderie we have with our new and experienced sub junior up through elder veteran shooters and their families. We know you are what make this sport possible and the backbone of each and every shoot. This year we are honoring Walter Coulson for his tireless support. He was always ready to help where ever it was needed, like selling hats and dumpster dancing and let’s not forget the White Harlem Parties. Without people like Walt, who continue to make trapshooting the sport it is, we might all be sitting in our living rooms alone instead of enjoying each other’s company on the trap field. A special thank you to our event sponsors and vendors for their contribution at this year’s events, your support does not go unnoticed. I am blessed to be associated with an untiring past and present board and directors. Their actions have proven they will do whatever is necessary to keep the CSTA running smoothly. Thank you! P.I.T.A. rules will govern this shoot and all targets will be registered with that organization. It is the shooter’s responsibility to check his/her scores on the score sheet and correct any errors before leaving the trap, as well as to see that his/her score is posted correctly on the scoreboard. Within 30 minutes of the close of event, all scores posted at that time and all options played, become final. Any shooter, upon entering any event in this shoot, agrees to abide by all P.I.T.A. and C.S.T.A. rules and regulations. The C.S.T.A. retains the right to refuse or refund any entry that, in their judgment, would interfere with the harmony of the shoot and to change any or all parts of the program at any time. SIGN-UPS and HANDICAPPING: The office and handicapping table will be open for various hours Wednesday May 20 through Monday, May 25, 2015 (see hours detail on page 1). Be sure your scores and averages are completed prior to handicapping. It is shooters responsibility. A shooter’s first Singles CLASSIFICATION (starts on Friday) establishes High Resident and CA Team class for those trophies regardless of being advanced for winning previous event. Class winners (and ties) for Singles and Doubles events shall be advanced to the next higher class for the remaining Singles or Doubles events, excluding CA SERIES Day, events 1 and 3. PAYOFFS FOR ALL STATE SHOOT EVENTS WILL BE BY CHECK, MAILED WITHIN SIX WEEKS FOLLOWING THE FINAL EVENT, by the CSTA Secretary. All added money will be divided, not shot off. One place, one money. Events 7 & 9 are a combined 200 target event. Added money is awarded based on the combined score of the two events. AN ERROR AT THE HANDICAP TABLE does not relieve a shooter of the responsibility for correct classification and yardage assignment. It is the shooter’s responsibility to show both his P. I. T. A. and A.T.A. score card to the handicap committee so that the correct yardage and classification can be assigned. Failure to comply with this rule may result in forfeiture of all money and trophies. Rule Page 2 of 4 RULES AND INFORMATION (continued) THERE WILL BE A $50.00 CHARGE FOR RETURNED CHECKS. California Series - QUALIFYING and ELIGIBILITY: Open to all members of the P.I.T.A. from any State or Province. Membership is the shooter’s responsibility. No scores will be counted unless P.I.T.A. membership is current. Only ‘California Series’ shoot scores will be counted. Note that not all California P.I.T.A. shoots are certified as ‘California Series’ shoot events. Clubs hosting ‘California Series’ events will advertise as such. Your ‘Yardage’ and ‘Special Category’ eligibility at your first Series Shoot event will remain the same for the entire 2014 series Tournament. Changes like aging and yardage advancements do not change your entry status. For Example: Should you begin the Series Tournament as a ‘Junior’ or as a ‘21-22’ yard shooter, you will compete in the same category for the whole tournament, even if during that time you become older than the ‘Junior’ age range or get punched to a longer yardage. However, if your yardage changes you must then shoot from the longer/promoted yardage or from an applied/granted reduced yardage. Regardless of a change, all certified scores are still applied based upon your initial qualification status. To become eligible to win one of the four yardage groups (21-22, 23- 24, 25-26, 27) , a shooter must shoot at least 500 16-yard singles, 500 handicap and 500 doubles (250 pair, in 50 pair events). To become eligible to win any of the ‘Special Category’ events (yardage 19-20, Lady, Elder, Senior Veteran, Veteran, Junior and Sub-Junior), a shooter must shoot at least 500 16-yard singles and 500 handicap. Note regarding years of age: A Veteran has attained their 65th birthday, a Senior Veteran has attained their 70th birthday and an Elder has attained their 75th birthday. A Sub-Junior is a person who has not attained their 15th birthday. A junior is a person who has not attained their 18th birthday. You may win only one category award. Example: If you score as High Junior and High 21-22 yardage, you will be awarded the ‘21-22 yard’ Award, only.
