Storm founded in 2003, manufacture and distribute
high performance cleaning, waterproofing and aftercare treatments that achieve Exceptional Technical
Performance, and allow you to fully Embrace the
Elements, significantly enhancing the performance
and prolonging the life of your outdoor gear, clothing
and footwear.
Our easy to understand colour coded product
labelling system uses green for cleaning products,
blue for waterproofing and orange for hard surface
care and repair. Supporting this, bottles with white
or clear caps are sprays and coloured caps signify
wash-in treatments.
All of our products are Made in Britain, and are
suitable for the aftercare of all fabrics such as GoreTex®, Sympatex® and eVent®. You can find our
products both on-line or in high-street stores across
the world. From our head offices in Derbyshire we
develop, manufacture
and distribute our products to exacting standards.
EASY TO USE
In recent years Greenpeace have noted the
formulas used in Storm’s Eco products
as being their choice of chemistry for both
aftercare and manufactured treatments.
Our system utilises a neutral pH cleaner to perfectly
bond our waterproofing treatments to all fabrics.
Being at a neutral pH it does not react with hard
water, therefore the white bloom associated
with other similar treatments is impossible to
occur with Storm products. The cleaner replaces
normal detergents in the wash cycle and by adding
our waterproofing products in the conditioning
compartment cleaning and proofing is done in one
wash cycle. Storm wash in products are formulated
to their strongest level, enabling each liquid to be
suitable for all fabric types whether synthetics,
breathables or cotton. Without leaving a physical
residue on the garment or in the machine. And to top
it all off you only need 75ml per machine cycle.
Why and when to use
aftercare
So you have just used your new garment and it rained,
it’s amazing how the water just ran off the surface
and it breathed as the manufacturer said it would.
This happens because of the DWR (durable water
repellent) treatment that was applied during the
manufacture of all waterproof garments.
Over time things like; dirt, oil and normal household
detergents will have a detrimental effect to the DWR,
causing the outside of the jacket to absorb water
(wetting out) rather than run off.
Breathability, performance and comfort can be
reduced by this “wetting out”, making the garment
feel heavy, cold and wet to the touch. Storm’s cleaners
remove dirt, oils and stains without harming the DWR,
making your garment work like new again, unlike
normal detergents, which can damage the DWR
further.
Your garment loses its DWR treatment over time due
to general wear and tear; this can be seen on the
garment by way of the wetting out occurring straight
after a clean. Storm’s range of proofing products can
restore the DWR to its original performance. Storm’s
proofing range uses the same technology that is used
by major garment manufacturers in the production
of their garments so will bond perfectly to existing
treatments to restore performance, breathability
and comfort.
To Heat or not too Heat; we give you the choice to
select a heat activated product (ECO+ proofer) or the
air curing proofer. The Eco+ proofer offers increased
levels of durability and performance and is seen
to the Ecological choice by various parties such as
GreenPeace, when it comes to DWR chemicals.
However not all garments or users want to go through
ironing or tumble drying their favorite outdoor
garments, so the option is yours.
Along with garments the same can be said for
footwear, as they can be cared for in much the same
way, keep them clean and re-proof as required.
Tents and equipment also benefit from some TLC.
Keeping kit well maintained will maximise serviceable
life, reduce drying time and reduce the risk of issues
such as Mildew.

advise and recommendations.

HOW TO USE: Garment

HAND WASHING
INSTRUCTIONS:

1.Empty pockets,
fasten all zippers and
closures, loosen any
cords, Place item(s) in
to washing machine.
• Use about the same dosage of product in a basin or
bucket of hand warm water, agitate a couple of times
and leave to soak for 15 minutes or so, rinse well and
dry are per garment care information.
2.Shake Bottle and then
pour required amount (as
per bottle information)
in to the Detergent
compartment (if proofing
in the same cycle pour
proofer in to Conditioner
compartment).Rinse
well after use.
3.Set machine to a
