PARISH DEVOTIONAL LIFE THE ROSARY: Is prayed in common from Monday through Saturday following the 9:00 A.M. Mass in the church.. CHARISMATIC PRAYER GROUP: GROUP Meets in the school on Mondays at 7:30 P.M. QUEEN OF PEACE ROSARY AND MIRACULOUS MEDAL NOVENA: Mondays in church 6 to 7:15 P.M. EUCHARISTIC ADORATION: Come worship the Eucharistic Lord on the First Friday of the month, from 12noon to 3:30 P.M., with the Divine Mercy Chaplet recited at 3:00 P.M. There is also a holy hour every Wednesday, dedicated to prayer for Priests, from 6 to 7:00 P.M.. MINISTRY OF PRAISE: Members pray at home for the intentions of the Church and parish. Designed for the home bound, senior citizens, etc. CONTEMPLATIVE PRAYER GROUP: A passive form of prayer that sets aside words and images in favor of sitting receptively in the presence of God. Mondays at 11:00 A.M. and 7:30 P.M. in the Bethany Center. LECTIO DIVINA: A method of prayer using Scripture, meditation , prayer and contemplation. Tuesdays at noon, and Wednesday evenings at 7:30 P.M. in the Bethany Center. The commiee coordinates and plans the celebration of festive liturgies and our weekly liturgies. This commiee is seeking persons who are , creative , artistic, detail oriented and interested in liturgy. We meet monthly September through May. The Family Life Commiee wishes to gratefully thank Rizzo Construction, Sayville Movie Theatre, and John Cheshire for making our Outdoor Movie Night a huge success. St. Lawrence Parish Picnic SUFFOLK COUNTY MARATHON September 20, 2015 CATHOLIC MINISTRIES APPEAL 2015 On Sunday September 13, 2015 Suffolk County is hosting a marathon to support our Veterans. The marathon will run along Montauk Highway from Hecksher State Park to Patchogue. Runners will turn around in Patchogue and head back to Hecksher. Therefore, Montauk Highway will be closed beginning at 8:00A.M. and reopening at 2:00P.M. So that we may accommodate parishioners, we will be changing the Mass Schedule for the weekend of September 12th and 13th. The schedule will be as follows: Saturday, September 12th 5:00P.M.and 7:00P.M. Sunday, September 13th 7:00A.M. and 5:00P.M. ALMOST THERE!!!!!! ` We have reached 95% of our parish goal of $77,600.00, that’s only $3,945.00 below our target. The Appeal is a vital Island-wide outreach to some of the most needy and vulnerable in our community. A significant portion of the funds we raise will be returned to St. Lawrence as a rebate. If you have not yet made a pledge to the 2015 Appeal, please consider participating. Every gi*—no maer what size— is greatly appreciated! For some families the list brings real tears and fears, knowing that they can not afford the basics to send their child back to school with new shoes, or that sharp new outfit, or even a good back pack with fresh school supplies. Please consider helping us help those who need a little bit of help and put some of the joy in back to school for a family that may need our support. A retreat especially designed for persons who live with a serious illness is planned for September 18th, 19th, 20th at Montfort Spiritually Center in Bay Shore N.Y. This retreat offers respite, a quiet time, an oasis, to enable on to continue the journey. The retreat focuses on God’s love, his forgiveness and his faithfulness. Any person wishing to volunteer in any ministry MUST aend the Diocesan Mandated “Protecting God’s Children Awareness Session”. There are THREE of these Sessions scheduled in our area. It is your responsibility to aend one if you have not already done so in the past. You MUST register to a5end the session of your choice ONLINE at www.virtus.org. You will not receive credit for aendance unless you register Online. The three sessions available in our area are: Wednesday, August 19th at St. John Nepomucene at 7:00 P.M Wednesday, August 26th at Our Lady of the Snow at 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 29th at St. Lawrence the Martyr in Bethany Center at 7:00P.M. Failure to aend one of these sessions will prevent you from beginning your ministry in the parish.
