PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
This project consisted of the construction of a new 50,000
SF Biotechnology Accelerator. The CNY Biotech Accelerator
is a joint venture project between Upstate Medical
University and SUNY-ESF.
The facility contains 18 independent laboratory–office
modules that will house more that 100 scientists, technicians
and entrepreneurs and a full complement of business
support services. There are also several common areas
for formal and informal gatherings. In addition, several
accelerator–wide programs will be held in these areas and
will be open to all clients.
The building consists of three floors of labs and common
areas as well as an enclosed mechanical penthouse on
the fourth floor. The scope of work included the fit–out of
seven 1,000 SF labs equipped with both biochemical and
fume hoods. The entire south face of the building was an

aluminum curtain wall.
