WHO WE ARE Founded in 1970, MOWSF is a local, independent non-profit organization. We work to alleviate the food insecurity and loneliness experienced by seniors who want to stay in their own homes but cannot shop or prepare meals for themselves. WHO WE SERVE Our services are geared towards those with the greatest physical, social and economic need. The seniors we serve are frail, have limited ability to purchase or prepare meals and have little or no support from family or caregivers. They are also often physically challenged, as well as confronted with the high costs of living in San Francisco on a limited income. OUR SERVICES Home-Delivered Meals. We serve more than 1.4 million meals a year to seniors in every San Francisco neighborhood. Our staff drivers deliver hot and frozen meals, along with fresh packed lunches to more than 2,200 seniors each week Safety Checks. We look out for clients’ well-being and safety and alert emergency contacts or services when a client is injured or fails to answer the door. Nutrition Counseling. Our registered dietitians perform more than 1,900 hours of nutrition counseling each year. Social Work. Our professional staff conducts regular home visits, help connect seniors to other social services and provides case management when needed. Volunteer Programs. We match volunteers with local seniors to offer companionship, battle isolation and offer assistance with grocery shopping, home repairs, home cleaning and more. Home Safety and Urgent Needs. We provide health and safety items like grab bars, smoke detectors, microwaves and refrigerators. 2015 STAR CHEFS 1760 ✯ Carl Foronda 15 Romolo ✯ Andrew Meltzer A16 ✯ Rocky Maselli Absinthe ✯ Adam Keough Ahwahnee Hotel ✯ Robert Anderson All Spice ✯ Sachin Chopra Anchor Brewing ✯ Dan Mitchell AQ Restaurant ✯ Mark Liberman b.patisserie ✯ Belinda Leong Barbacco ✯ Miguel Peffer Barrel Head Brewhouse ✯ Davin Affrunti and Ivan Hopkinson BDK Restaurant & Bar ✯ Trish Tracey Beth’s Community Kitchen ✯ Beth Setrakian Bluestem Brasserie ✯ Francis Hogan Bocadillos ✯ James LaLonde Boulevard Restaurant ✯ Nancy Oakes, Dana Younkin and Lisa Lu Bourbon Steak ✯ Pajo Bruich Brown Sugar Kitchen ✯ Tanya Holland Burritt Room + Tavern ✯ Luke Knox Café de la Presse ✯ Patrick Albert Cavalier / Marlowe / Park Tavern ✯ Jenn Puccio Chaya Brasserie ✯ Yuko Kajino Commissary ✯ Robbie Lewis Comstock Saloon ✯ Ronnie New Craftsman and Wolves ✯ William Werner Dirty Habit ✯ Brian Means Dirty Habit ✯ David Bazirgan Doc Ricketts ✯ Justin Deering E & O Kitchen and Bar ✯ Sharon Nahm Epic / Waterbar ✯ Parke Ulrich, Kenneth Coverdell, Andrew Hager and Angela Salvatore Farmhouse Inn & Restaurant ✯ Steve Litke and Neil Corsten FIVE ✯ Stephane Tonnelier Globe and Tres ✯ Joseph Manzare Hakkasan ✯ Catherine Kim Hard Water ✯ Charles Phan Hint Water ✯ Polly Geme Hog & Rocks ✯ Scott Youkilis Hopscotch ✯ Kyle Itani Humphry Slocombe ✯ Jake Godby and Sean Vahey Iyasare ✯ Sho Kamio Jardinière ✯ Morgan Mueller Kara’s Cupcakes ✯ Kara Haspel Lind La Mar Cebicheria Peruana ✯ Gabriele Originario and Danny Kou La Toque ✯ Ken Frank La Urbana ✯ Julio Aguilera Locanda ✯ Lane Milburn Maven ✯ Kate Bolton McCormick & Kuleto’s ✯ Chris Zekos Meadowood, Estate Events ✯ Scott Beattie Michael Mina ✯ Ron Siegel Mochica Peruvian Kitchen & Bar ✯ Carlos Altamirano Mourad / Aziza ✯ Mourad Lahlou Murray Circle at Cavallo Point ✯ Ethan Howard MY China ✯ Tony Wu Navio ✯ Xavier Salomon, Kevin Tanaka Navio ✯ Christian Brassfield Ne Timeas Restaurant Group ✯ Thomas McNaughton Nico ✯ Nicolas Delaroque Noe Valley Bakery ✯ Michael Gassen Nopa/Nopalito ✯ Laurence Jossel One Market Restaurant ✯ Mark Dommen Oyster Girls ✯ Aluxa Lalicker and Jazmine Lalicker Pabu ✯ Ken Tominaga and Paul Piscopo Paella del Reyes ✯ Thomas Meckfessel Parallel 37 ✯ Andrea Correa and Michael Rotondo Perbacco Ristorante + Bar ✯ Staffan Terje, Kevin Wilson and Laura Cronin Piperade Restaurant ✯ Gerald Hirigoyen and Sabur Franklin Plumed Horse ✯ Peter Armellino Poggio Trattoria ✯ Benjamin Balesteri Progress ✯ Stuart Brioza and Nicole Krasinski Prospect ✯ Pam Mazzola, Aaron Bollwinkel and Rodney Cerdan Quince | Cotogna ✯ Jonny Black Redd ✯ Richard Reddington Rich Table ✯ Evan and Sarah Rich Ritz-Carlton, San Francisco ✯ Cynthia Falatic RN74 ✯ Adam Sobel Roka Akor ✯ Roman Petry Rose Pistola ✯ Steven Walker Rye ✯ Greg Lindgren Scala’s Bistro ✯ Larry Finn and Kimberly Bugler Smuggler’s Cove ✯ Steven Liles Spoonbar Restaurant ✯ Louis Maldonado SPQR ✯ Matthew Accarrino and Justin Uchtman Spruce ✯ Mark Sullivan and John Madriaga Stone’s Throw ✯ Jason Halverson Taj Campton Place ✯ Srijith Gopinathan Taste Catering ✯ Chris Borges Terra, Urchin Bistrot, Ame ✯ Hiro Sone and Lissa Doumani Terzo ✯ Mark Gordon TORC ✯ Sean O’Toole Tosca Cafe ✯ Josh Even Tout Sweet Patisserie ✯ Yigit Pura Town Hall ✯ Esteban Escobar TRACE ✯ Jason Rea Trick Dog ✯ Morgan Schick Waterbar / Epic ✯ Angela Salvatore and Sarah Principe Wayfare Tavern ✯ Omri Aflalo Weaver’s Coffee & Tea ✯ Renee Brown Zazu Kitchen + Farm ✯ Duskie Estes and John Stewart Zero Zero ✯ Joyce Conway 2015 STELLAR VINTNERS & BARTENDERS VINTNERS August West Wine Bernardus Winery BOND Bure Family Wines Cakebread Cellars Canard-Duchêne Ceja Vineyards Chappellet Vineyard & Winery Chateau Montelena Winery Chêne Bleu Clark Claudon Winery Clos Pissara Crocker & Starr Dom Perignon 2004 Domaine Chandon Duckhorn Portfolio Dutton-Goldfield Ehlers Estate Wine Faust Flowers Vineyard and Winery Freeman Vineyard & Winery Galerie Gamble Family Vineyards Gemstone Vineyard Gentleman Farmer Wines Gloria Ferrer Caves & Vineyard Grgich Hills Estate Gundlach Bundschu Winery Hanzell Vineyards Harrington Wines Herb Lamb Vineyards Illumination La Jota La Sirena Winery Ladera Vineyards Le Grand Courtage Lede Family Wines Levy McClellan Maggy Hawk Mauritson Family Winery Melka Wines Merry Edwards Winery Michel Schlumberger Mt.
