What you will need:
• Juice Carton
• Scissors
• pencil
1
• Ruler
• Tape
• Water
• Glue
• Newspaper
• Brush
• Paint
Get an adult to help you with all the cutting in this make!
Take some cardboard and make a rectangle lining for the
inside of the box. Now, get ready to take some measurements.
2
3
Place the box against one of the edges of the cardboard and
mark where the long side ends. Then, turn it without lifting it
up until it’s on the shorter side. Be careful it doesn’t move, as
accurate measurements are important.
When it’s on the long side again, mark a line on the side. Now,
connect the marks with a ruler and cut out the rectangle.
Place a pencil on the end and mark the width twice.
Do the same on the other side and connect them by extending
two lines.
Cut along the lines and you will have two thin rectangles.
You will need the big rectanlge and one of the small ones to
make the inside of the wild box.

Place the largest rectangle in the box and fold at the corners. Cut
off the excess cardboard, and tape the remaining to the inside.
To make the groove on the top, take the second rectangle and
put it inside the box. Trim the leftover bit and tape it in place.
Leave a gap in the middle for the box lid to slide in.
On the uncovered side make a mark at the height of the large
rectangle and cut the box following the line. This is where the
lid will go.
5
To make a lid that will slide in, place the box on some cardboard
and draw the outline. Cut the cardboard out to get a rectangle
shape. Take the second small rectangle and measure the width
of the top, cut it out and attach it to the lid. You might need to
make the lid narrower – draw a line and cut off the extra bit.
Now you just have to make it stronger and give it that fierce
touch! Cover the box with Art Attack paste, which consists
of equal parts water and glue. And add strips of newspaper,
covering the entire surface as you go.

Once dry give it a giraffe print effect. Cover the box in a
sandy colour.
When the paint is dry, paint all the edges of the box in dark
brown. Use another shade of brown to make the giraffe
markings, one next to the other.
And now it’s your turn! Think of your favourite animal and
make an animal print box to take with you wherever you go.
