THE IRS TATTLER
TRAVIS W. WATKINS, PC
Actor, Comedian Chris Tucker
Owes $14 Million to IRS
Funny man Chris Tucker owes a staggering amount of money to the Internal Revenue Service. More than $14
million, to be exact!
According to newly filed IRS documents obtained by celebrity news
website TMZ, Tucker—best known for
his role in the Rush Hour movie franchise—did not pay $2.4 million for taxes in 2008 and 2010.
That amount is on top of Tucker’s unpaid taxes for the years
2001-2006, putting his total amount of tax debt at more than
$14 million. TMZ reported that a spokesman for Tucker told
the news agency that the actor had settled his debt.

when the IRS started coming
after me. When I hired Travis
it was instant relief. Instead of
me being bullied by the IRS,
Travis and his staff talked to
them for me. I was able to
focus on what needed to be
done and they were able to
help settle my tax nightmare
for good. I don’t know where I
would be if it wasn’t for Travis
and his team.”

F.A.Q.’s
Staff Celebrity Looka-Like of the Month
Q: What is a tax
lien?
A: A tax lien is the
IRS' claim to your
property. For example if you ever try to
sell your house they
can obtain any equity you have in it.
The IRS routinely
files & enforces
liens when people
owe back taxes, &
sometimes, they file
liens on top of liens.
Due to a new law,
the IRS threshold to
file a lien has recently increased.

Are You Getting
Enough Sleep?
Last month, we talked all about the
dangers of sleep deprivation. But do
you know if you’re getting enough
sleep?
The amount of sleep you need actually
varies by age. To ensure a healthy
and happy life, teens 13-18 years of
age, need 10 hours of sleep. For adults 19-55, a full 8 hours
is recommended. And if you’re over 65, it’s recommended
you get at least 6 hours of sleep.
Although these are the recommended amounts, the sleep
foundation says the amount you need also will vary by individual needs. Most adults can function happily with 7-8 hours
of sleep. Be advised though that anything less can increase
your risk of sleep deprivation!

the calendar years 1998-2012 than they
claimed and paid. The charge of income
tax evasion is punishable by up to five
years in prison, a term of supervised release of not more than three years, and a
maximum fine of $250,000 or twice the
defendant’s gain.
