23rd Annual Golf Outing a Success!
Friday, May 6th was a beautiful day to be out on the course at
Sycamore Golf Club. Our afternoon flight was at capacity and
our newer morning tee time continues to gain popularity with
five teams taking advantage of an early start. Our thanks go
out to POET Biorefining for being our cart sponsor this year
and also to Wetzel Insurance Agency, Inc. for sponsoring the
$5000 Hole in One prize on the 18th hole. No winner this
year – but Wetzel did pass out sleeves of balls at the
hole. The Law Offices of Matthew J. Mize was equipment
sponsor for the day – providing a sleeve of Nike balls to each
player. Trine University was our Luncheon Sponsor which
was a delightful assortment of salads, wraps, chips and cookies for dessert from Nordmann's
Nook. Shepherd's Chevrolet, Inc. sponsored our beverage cart for the second year which kept all the
players happy as volunteers drove the course providing plenty of hydration throughout the day. Manchester University hosted Munchies with Manny at the turn which provided a little pick me up for players and also a photo op with the school mascot.
We extend our gratitude to the following businesses and organizations for their generous contributions
as hole sponsors: Beacon Credit Union, Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance, Batteries Plus and More, Johnson Petroleum (Manchester Trading Post), Stine Tire, HF Group, LLC., Bippus State Bank, Century 21

Honeywell Foundation provides many opportunities and events this summer to have fun with the whole family.
Beginning its 12th year, the annual Plaza Series will feature five weeks of free musical entertainment. All concerts will be
held outdoors on the Honeywell Center plaza with the exception of the Patriotic Pops concert on June 30, which is scheduled
to be indoors in the Honeywell Center Ford Theatre and will begin at 7 p.m. Concerts are free and open to the public!
“Retro Reels” will take place again this year at the 13-24 Drive In, occurring each Thursday nighty during the
month of June and into July featuring some of yesterday’s favorite big screen hits. Admission will be $5 per carload with
gate opening and show times the same as weekends. The 13-24 Drive In Season Pass will also be available for purchase at
$40 per individual.
A total of 7 movies will be shown throughout the months of June and July taking place on Mondays with show
times at 10 a.m., 1 p.m., 4 p.m., and 7 p.m. at the Eagles Theatre. Why is it called Free Movie Mondays? Because admission
to these family-friendly movies is totally free to the public. What better way to spend your summer?

North Manchester Tourism
What is the Tourism Committee all about?
The North Manchester Tourism Committee is responsible for creating, organizing and executing events that encourage visitors
to our town. Our group is made up of all volunteers and we are a division of the Chamber of the Commerce.
What is Happening in North Manchester
Annually, the Tourism committee is responsible for Harvest Festival which takes place on the first Saturday in the month of October. This year
it falls on Saturday, October 1 and will be from 9am-3pm on Market Square. Harvest Festival is a free one-day family-friendly event that celebrates all things of the fall season. As part of this year’s Indiana’s Bicentennial Celebration, we’ve been endorsed by the state as a Legacy Project by the state, which we’re excited about too! Our attendance remains strong & growing each year. And we’re increasing the numbers of
vendors who are taking part as well. We’re excited about the growth of this event!
An added element this year will be the celebration/dedication of the new Canoe Launch. There will be a dedication the morning of Harvest Festival starting at 10am. The many organizations who have helped make this project possible will be participating. We’re so excited about this new
feature in our community and all the possibilities that come with it. It’ll be a wonderful green space for the community and another great reason
for visitors to come to town!
We also host the Annual Wine & Beer Tasting. This year it’s on Friday, September 9th. Sycamore Golf Club partners with us. They provide their
dining/event space and Kathy Sandow and her team prepare amazing food for the event (http://www.sycamoregc.com/) . Todd Sandow leads the
beer tasting and this year, we’re excited to have Schnabeltier (http://schnabeltier.com/) taking part in the event featuring their award-winning
wines and cheeses. Monarch Beverage Company (https://monarch-beverage.com/) will also return this year with a selection of their products.
And with Indiana’s Bicentennial happening this year, the Tourism Committee will also lend a hand at an event for the Torch Relay at Warvel Park on
Wednesday, September 28th.

We’re always happy to welcome more volunteers on the Tourism committee! If you’re interested in joining our group or just helping out at one of our
events, we would love to have you! These great community events only happen
by the strength & energy of our volunteers! Contact the Chamber directly or

Trine University adds new concentration to MBA program
This fall, Trine University is adding accounting as a concentration within the Master of Business Administration
degree. It will be in addition to two other concentrations, finance and management.
Nancy Steigmeyer, dean of graduate school, said, “According to the American Institute of CPAs, 75 percent of
today’s CPAs will be retiring within the next 15 years. Adding the concentration in accounting will meet the requirements for CPA preparation hours.”
The MBA is a 31-credit-hour degree program that can be accomplished within 12 months. Full-time students who
begin the MBA this fall will finish July 8, 2017. Classes are available both online and seated at all nine Trine University campuses throughout Indiana, Michigan and Arizona.
“Our graduate degrees are built to accommodate the working adult. Classes change every eight weeks to make
them accelerated programs,” said Steigmeyer.
Fall semester applications are due Aug. 8 and classes begin Aug. 22. Applications are free and online at http://
trine.edu/adult-studies/degrees/graduate/.
For more information, contact Whitney Doyle Driver, director of graduate enrollment, at [email protected] or

Hello Chamber Members!
This notice applies to our Members who participate in the Chamber Bucks program.
Almost a year and a half ago, we moved our Chamber Bucks bank account from First Financial Bank
(FFB) to Bippus State Bank (BSB). The last of the Chamber Bucks that were issued from the FFB account expired in December 2015. Since then, that account has had zero activity. We have decided it is
safe to officially close the FFB account, as all of the FFB Chamber Bucks are 6 months past their expiration.
Please don’t let this notice confuse you. The Chamber Bucks program is still going strong; the certificates are simply drawn on BSB now.
Please direct any questions to Nicole Belvin, thank you!
