Oslo Motorshow
25.-27.oktober
Også i år har vi lykkes å få delta med egen 63kvm
stand på Oslo Motorshow , som har >35000
besøkende og deltagelse her gir jo klubben masse
oppmerksomhet. Vi deltar i år med en Interceptor, en
convertible Interceptor og en Jensen-Healey.

Jensen-Healey
– a short story
Origin Once British Leyland withdrew the
agreement with the Healey Company to
produce Austin-Healeys, the company started
looking for another way of producing
sportscars, and in collaboration with US
importer Kjell Qvale (a native Norwegian) the
Jensen Healey was created, and built by
Jensen Motors, with Donald Healey as
Managing Director.
Eventually, strikes, parts shortages, inflation,
the oil crisis and bad economic conditions
contributed the demise of Jensen Motors in
May, 1976.

All Jensen Healey models used the new 1973
cc Lotus 907 engine, a two litre, twin overhead
cam, 16 valve, all alloy engine, developing 144
brake horsepower giving 119 mph and a 0-60
time of in 8.7 seconds.

otherwise noted) Front - double wishbone and

Components and frontal design as the JensenHealey convertible MK2, but has a different,
estate body. 4 seat estate.

1972 - May 1973. 3.356 built. Four speed
Chrysler gearbox unit from the Sunbeam
Rapier.

Jensen-Healey, convertible, Mark 2. August
1973 - May 1976 – 7.142 built (total of early
and late versions)
Performance and mechanical specification
remain the same as the Mark1 but trim level
was upgraded - wood facia added to the dash,
padded centre console, floor carpeting &
additional bright work details added to exterior.
Round cornered headlight cowl with one piece
front wings. Steel rear bumpers stand off body
a few extra inches compared to mark 1 in
preparation for impact bumpers seen in late
Mk2s.

Ken was driving in his Jensen when he passed a
Mini that had broken down by the side of the road.
Being a kindly driver, Ken stopped and fixed a tow
-rope to it and began towing it to the nearest garage.
After 10 minutes of towing, a Porsche passed them
at high speed. The Jensen driver was not going to
be outdone by a Porsche, so, forgetting that he had
a Mini in tow, slammed his foot down and the Jensen
and Porsche indulged in a high-speed race down
the road, the Mini and its occupant trailing wildly
about at the end of the rope frantically trying to
attract their attention and failing.
A Police car saw them and gave chase. The Police
driver radioed back to Headquarters "Sarge, you'll
never believe this, I've just seen a Porsche and a
Jensen neck and neck doing 120mph - and a bloke
in a Mini flashing his lights, blowing his horn and
trying to overtake them!"
Imagine you’ve decided to take your Jensen for a
quick drive and you get pulled over by the ‘long arm
of the law’. Here are some suggestions of what not
to say ....
1. I can't reach my license unless you hold my beer.
2. Sorry, Officer, I didn't realize my radar detector
wasn't plugged in.
3. Aren't you the guy from the Village People?
4. Hey, you must have been going about 125 mph
to keep up with me. Good job!
5. I pay your salary!
6. I was trying to keep up with traffic. Yes, I know there
are no other cars around. That's how far ahead of
me they are.

Pass på å sjekk bensinpåfyllingsslangen ved tanken.
Min så slik ut og var pill råtten:
Godt råd er å ta ut hele bakakselen. Få hjelp til å dra
av hub og skive med hydraulisk kraft. På min
Interceptor brukte vi 57 TONN på høyre side og 29
TONN hydaulisk presse på venstre side. WOW.
Når skivene løsnet var det som en kanon ble avfyrt.
Her er noen bilder av jobben. Nye kalipere foran og
bak, ny masterpumpe og overhalt servo = som ny.

One of the biggest and best British cruisers of the
luxury Grand Tourer world 1966’s Interceptor
propelled Jensen into the limelight. The handsome
lines were styled by Touring of Milan and initially,
the bodies (steel now instead of glassfibre) were
built by Vignale in Italy before Jensen switched
production to the UK. The standard car’s most
distinctive feature was a curved glass hatchback but
even without this it was still a very eye-catching and
imposing creation, as the accompanying
convertibles and notchback coupé proved.
