Families, Important Dates to Remember on Page 2 Springtime brings many field trips. Teachers love to have the support of family members helping during these events. In order to attend your child’s field trip all family members must register as a volunteer through the Thompson School District website. Once on the district website, look under “quick links” for the “volunteer, get involved” link. Volunteers must register quickly in order to have your paperwork processed in time. Please visit the Truscott office for more information or support with how to register. We are always happy to help! Our second round of parent/teacher conferences will be held March 1st, 2nd and 3rd. The opportunity to partner with families to better support your child is vital. During these meetings we look forward to sharing your child’s progress and areas needing growth. If you would like for me to attend your child’s conference, I would be more than happy to do so. Thank you in advance for making this time a priority. First of all the spacecraft circled the moon. They took pictures and sent them back to Earth. Also, the spacecraft separated into two parts, the Eagle and the Command Module. Michael Collins stayed in the Command Module. Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin landed on the moon in the Eagle. Most importantly, they needed to get ready to go outside. They put on their gear, like over shoes, helmets with visors, gloves, and space suits. Armstrong said, “That is one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind” as he stepped onto the moon. President Kennedy had promised that an American would reach the moon by the 60’s, and we made it! ~ Written by Trevor and Milena Three, two, one, blast off!
