I invite you to continue the tradition of benched dog shows and enter the 2014 International
Kennel Club Cluster of Dog Shows, February 20-23, 2014.
In 2007 we started “Chicago Style” Benching and will again have “Chicago Style” Benching
on Saturday & Sunday. As in the past, there is no charge for the assigned space or the shared
electricity.

SHOW SITE: The 2014 Cluster will be held in the Lakeside Building on the 3rd level all
four days.
•
SPECIAL EVENTS: On Saturday we offer our Puppy Groups & BIS and on Saturday
and Sunday we offer Amateur-Owner-Handled Groups & BIS. New for 2014 will be 4-6
Month Puppy Show all 4 days.

MOVE-IN: John Benoit and his team will be coordinating the Handler/Agent/Multi Breed
move-in Wednesday, February 19th beginning at 3 pm. No vehicles will be allowed to
drive in after 9:30 pm. The building closes at 10:00 pm and everyone must leave the building. At 7:00 pm exhibitors with 3 entries or less are invited to unload indoors - space permitting. Move-out takes place on Sunday, February 23rd, immediately following Best in
Show.
EX-PENS: Private ex-pens will be allowed as we have done in the past, pending the size
of the entry. All pens must have plastic under and up the sides of the pen regardless of
what kind of material is used inside the pen. Plastic must be secured and high enough to
protect the walls and/or drapes for obvious reasons. Also, all ex-pens must be properly
labled with handlers name, row # and bench #’s. Plastic shavings and ex-pen cards will be
available at the show office, Judy Cooper or Susan Olsen.
ELECTRIC: There will be a limited amount of SHARED OUTLETS. If you have several
dogs that require drying at the same time, we strongly suggest you order your own “electric”. Please contact Susan Olsen in the IKC office for details at
([email protected] or 773-237-5100). Early bird deadline is February 5th.

The International Kennel Club of Chicago, Inc. has obtained special parking rate of $14
per day with an official discount parking pass for exhibitors, handlers & agents in Lot C
(For vehicles under 6’ tall in the lower levels of the Lakeside Building) or at 31st Street
(Parking Lot B for vehicles over 6’ tall and Motorhomes) Unload your vehicle and drive
to 31st Street to park and take free shuttle back to the LAKESIDE building.
New For 2014
IKC has secured limited indoor Premier Parking for all size vehicles except
Motorhomes in the Employee Garage in the Lakeside Building with direct access by
service elevators to the show floor (fee $100). If you choose Premier Parking, please
contact Susan for form.
RV Parking
RV Parking is available at 31st Street Lot (Parking Lot B). You will need to pay for all
days and put receipts on dashboard. Autos and commercial vehicles will park in accordance with conditions listed in this premium list.
The 31st Street Parking Lot is also available for spectators. Please note: On Friday,
Saturday and Sunday, every person entering the building must have an admittance

eligibility dates for the AKC Eukanuba National Championship. All juniors meeting the criteria for
this class are required to enter the Master Class and may change their entry the day of the show if
entries have already closed. Once the eligibility time frame for that year has passed, all participants return to the Open Class to compete for the following year.
NOTICE: Junior Handlers must include their AKC JUNIOR HANDLER NUMBER on each entry.

DOGS MUST BE ENTERED IN THE AMATEUR-OWNER-HANDLER CLASS
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THE AMATEUR-OWNER-HANDLER COMPETITION.
Best A-O-H in each breed will be judged after Best of Breed by the
Regular judge. At this show, the A-O-H entry must be handled by the
Amateur-Owner in all levels of competition to compete for the special groups & Best in Show.
There is always the possibility that in the normal judging procedure, an
automatic Best A-O-H in Breed may occur. If this occurs in the Breed
competition by an A-O-H entry placing Best of Winners or Best of
Breed, the Best Amateur-Owner-Handler will be automatic.
The winner of Best A-O-H in each breed is eligible to compete in the
Amateur-Owner-Handler Group. The A-O-H entry must be handled by
the Amateur-Owner in the A-O-H Group competition as this is considered a Special Attraction.
The Club reserves the right to substitute a judge for this special attraction.

Beginner Puppies (4-6 months of age)
AKC Sanctioned Beginner Puppy Competition!
The American Kennel Club has designed the Beginner Puppy Special Attraction to be an opportunity for puppies to interact with people and other dogs under a puppy friendly judge and show
ring. New pure-bred puppy owners are encouraged to enter to explore competing in AKC events.
One combined class, not divided by sex, will be offered for breeds and varieties of dogs that are four (4) months &
under six (6) months and divided into Groups as described in Chapter 3, Section 1 of the Rules Applying to Dog
Shows and the Miscellaneous Class breeds as listed in Chapter 3, Section 23. There will be a selection of Best
Beginner Puppy and Best of Opposite Sex in each Breed/Variety for the breeds included in Chapter 3, Section 1, each
Best Beginner Puppy will then compete in their respective group for First through Fourth Placements. The
Miscellaneous class competition will be the equivalent of Group Competition & the winner will be eligible to compete in Best Four-to-Six Month Puppy in Show. The FSS Competition will be the equivalent of Group Competition &
the winner will be eligible to compete in Best Four-to-Six Month Puppy in Show.
An AKC registration number or litter number will be required for entries of an AKC recognized breed as listed in
Chapter 3, Section 1. FSS number or FSS registered litter number will be required for Miscellaneous & FSS Breed
entries.
Dogs are required to be vaccinated (including rabies) in accordance with their veterinarian’s protocol.
AKC Rules in Dealing with Misconduct will be applicable to any person and dog entered at this competition. All
applicable rules found in Rules Applying to Dog Shows will govern the conduct of this competition unless these regulations state otherwise.
Exhibitors should plan on opening the mouth of their puppy for the judges. Breed standard disqualifications such as
color, height, weight or dentition shall not be a point of consideration in the judging process for this 4-6 month
Puppy Special Attraction event.
Professional Handlers are not allowed to exhibit in this competition. Professional handlers are defined as
any person who belongs or has belonged to a professional handlers’ organization, distributed rate cards, or
otherwise advertised or represented themselves as handling dogs for pay.
Entry Fee: $20.00 (including AKC recording fee of $2.00 for each dog. These fees are paid to the American
Kennel Club.)
Entries will close Wednesday Noon, February 5, 2014 at Superintendent’s office.

NON-REGULAR (ADDITIONAL) CLASSES Involving Multiple Dog Entries
As the judge's decision in the Non-Regular Classes involving Multiple Dog Entries is based on the merits of more than one dog or bitch, no one of the dogs or bitches making up the entry judged first in
these classes will be eligible to compete for Best of Breed by virtue of having won these classes.
STUD DOG CLASS - For Stud Dogs and two of their Get. It is not necessary that the Get be under the
same ownership as that of the Stud Dog. The Stud Dog may be entered separately in one of the regular
classes, or if a Champion of Record in Best of Breed Competition, but MUST be entered in the Stud Dog
Class, the Get MUST be entered in one of the regular classes. The Stud Dog shall be considered as one
entry and requires one entry fee, this being the regular fee plus the additional class fee if the Stud Dog
is entered in another class. The Stud Dog must be shown in the ring with the Get. The class will be
judged on the merits of the Get.
BROOD BITCH CLASS - Same as for the Stud Dog except substitute Brood Bitch for Stud Dog and
Produce for Get.
BRACE CLASS - Two dogs of the same Breed or Variety of Breed with one or more common owner and
both dogs must be entered in another class.

for damages against the Clubs and/or their members in the event a motor vehicle must be entered to rescue
a dog from overheating or suffocation due to improper ventilation.
The welfare of an exhibitor's child is the responsibility of the exhibitor. It is expressly understood that
exhibitors will exercise control & restraint over their children on the day of the show.
Management is not responsible for theft or damage to vehicles or personal property.
SET-UP & GROOMING
Private exercise pens: If allowed: 1 pen per 5 dogs pending space, per individual at show committees discretion, depending on space available. If private ex-pens are allowed, all pens must be labeled with
owner/handler name, breed, bench row & bench number. Maintenance & cleanliness of these private
pens are the responsibility of the exhibitor. PLASTIC MUST BE USED UNDER & UP THE SIDES OF ALL PENS
REGARDLESS IF PAPERS OR SHAVINGS ARE USED. Cards to label pens, shavings & plastic will be available
on site. Contact Judy Cooper, Susan Olsen or Marge Schiele at the IKC Show Office. Exercise pens must not
block any fire protection equipment. On Saturday & Sunday, any exercise pens directly in front of grooming
area must be taken down prior to the start of judging & may be set up after Group Judging is completed.
Crating area must be maintained in an orderly manner in the areas designated by the Clubs.
Electrical power will be available from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm daily. A maximum of three (3) electrical outlets
per row will be installed. These outlets are to be shared by exhibitors. Any exhibitor wishing a dedicated
outlet for his or her own use for the entire weekend should contact Susan Olsen @ 773-237-5100 or
[email protected] for information. EARLYBIRD DEADLINE FEBRUARY 5, 2014.
Dogs benched in the Multi-Breed Section may unload in the building on Wednesday, February 19, 2014, after
3:00 pm until 10:00 pm (based upon availability of benching area). Dogs benched in the Breed Only Section
may unload in building (space permitting) on Wednesday, February 19, 2014, after 6:00 pm until 10:00 pm.

Vehicles will only be allowed in the building for unloading on Wednesday (until 9:30 pm) (space permitting)
and after Best in Show Sunday.
International Kennel Club of Chicago, Inc. will have one self-serve dog wash area. You need to provide your
own bathing supplies & clean the area when you are done. ANYONE FOUND BATHING A DOG IN A SINK
OR OUTSIDE THE BATHTUB WILL BE SUBJECT TO AKC SUSPENSION. Exhibitors using bathing area are
requested to leave the area clean & dry.
TROPHIES
Trophies & prizes must be claimed the day of the show in the ring. No trophies will be mailed. All trophies
unclaimed after the show become the property of the show-giving club. The Clubs reserve the right to
substitute a prize of equal or greater value.
NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS
These shows are governed by the American Kennel Club. Exhibitors should read the AKC agreement on
the back side of the entry blank in this premium list. Entries must include both the front & back of entry
form or will be returned.
All rights to TELEVISE, VIDEOTAPE, ADVERTISE, PHOTOGRAPH, PROMOTE or otherwise exploit these events
are vested in the Clubs or in persons to whom assignments of such rights have been made in writing by
the Clubs. All persons & animals on the show grounds at any time while the events are in progress do, by
attending these events or participating therein, grant to the clubs the right to photograph, televise, videotape, audiotape or otherwise use their likeness & voice in any manner without further release or consent.
The kennel clubs & their officials are not responsible for the actions or products of the commercial vendors at these shows.
2014 BENCHING INFORMATION
Saturday Benching Hours - 9:00 am - 3:30 pm if dog is not needed for further judging.
Sunday Benching Hours - 9:00 am - 3:00 pm if dog is not needed for further judging.
All exhibitors will be assigned to a specific area that will be reserved for dogs according to their Breeds. There
will also be Multi-Breed space available for those persons meeting the requirements to be in that space.
Benching Forms must be submitted if you have different breeds from multiple Variety Groups that need
to be benched together in the Multi-Breed Section. To be benched with your handler, or if you wish to be
benched together with friends of the same breed, benching forms must be submitted with your entries.
Failure to provide complete or accurate information on the benching form could result in your dog being
benched differently than you wish with no recourse. Single dogs benched in the breed Section do not
need to submit the benching form. You must submit your benching form at the same time you submit
your entry.
Please indicate in the space provided on the benching form whether you wish to be in the Multi-Breed
section with your handler. In order to be eligible for Multi-Breed benching, all dogs to be benched together in Multi-Breed area must be appropriately noted on the Benching Form submitted to Onofrio Dog
Shows with your entries. Be sure before listing a handler’s name on your entry the handler qualified for
Multi-Breed benching and if you change handler’s after the entries close you are not assured of being in
the Multi-Breed area or having the correct handler’s name listed in the catalog.
All dogs will be in their crates and must be able to be viewed by the public.
Dogs are required to be in their areas until the published release time except for exercising or judging. We
request that you bring only those items necessary for the grooming, exhibition, and crating comfort of
your dogs. Crates must be stacked in the Multi-Breed area.
Stacking of crates/equipment is required in the Multi-Breed area. Crates will not be permitted in any aisle,
at any ring or on any floor space not designated for crate use.
Toy crates are permitted in the holding area 5 minutes prior to start of judging of your breed and must be

Early Release for Obedience/Rally!
All dogs will be required to be on the “bench” no later than 9:00 am. When the entire obedience/rally class
your dog is entered in has been judged and all awards given out, dogs entered in that class will be
released. You must present your early release slip to the guard at the assigned door in order to be released.
If your dog is entered in both conformation and obedience/rally events, you will be required to be
benched the entire time.
DOGS THAT ARE ENTERED IN OBEDIENCE/RALLY EVENTS ONLY WILL BE ALLOWED EARLY RELEASE.
The use of soft-sided crates is strongly not recommended unless you plan to have someone sitting by
that crate at all times. IKC recommends the use of a hard crate for Benching.
Please keep dogs on short lead - no flexi-leads on show grounds.
Only AKC eligible dogs are allowed on the show grounds. No puppies under six months will be allowed
unless entered in the 4-6 Mo Beginner Puppy Competition.

All Dogs Present must be held on leash or confined to their crates except when being judged or when in
the exercising ring.
Class Cash Prizes will be paid in the ring to the person showing the dog. Claims for prize money must be
made in the ring before the judging of that breed is over, and the Superintendent’s Office advised at
once. The Superintendents and showgiving Clubs disclaim any liability for cash prizes after the judging of
the breed is over.
NO DOGS ALLOWED ON SKYBRIDGE or in the Grand Concourse.
All dogs should enter through loading docks of the Lakeside Building when possible.
Owners/Handlers will be expected to clean up after any dog being walked from the garage to the
show floor.
You SHOULD unload dogs and/or equipment prior to parking in LOT B (31st Street)
The Park Shore Kennel Club, Inc. & the International Kennel Club of Chicago, Inc. do not agree to arbitrate claims as
set forth on the Official AKC entry form for these events.
At the sole discretion of the judge, the following breeds may be judged on a ramp: Boykin Spaniels, Clumber Spaniels, Field
Spaniels, Sussex Spaniels, Welsh Springer Spaniels, Whippets, Irish Terriers, Kerry Blue Terriers, Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers,
Staffordshire Bull Terriers, Chinese Shar-Pei, Chow Chows, Keeshonden, Norwegian Buhunds & Polish Lowland Sheepdogs.
Ramps are expected to be used for Basset Hounds and Bulldogs. Ramps may be used in emergency situations to judge any
breed. (In an emergency situation, an exhibitor does have the option of withdrawing their entry and receiving a refund)

A Recording Fee of 50 cents for each dog and an AKC Event Service Fee of $3.00 will be required for each recordable single
entry class at any Licensed or Member Club Show or Obedience Trial. (American Kennel Club Rule, Chapter 11, Section 2). An
AKC Recording Fee of $3.50 1st Entry & $3.00 additional entry of same dog will be required for each entry in Rally. (American
Kennel Club Rally Regulation, Chapter 1, Section 3) These Fees are paid to the American Kennel Club.
CANADIAN EXHIBITORS MUST SUBMIT ENTRIES WITH CHECKS DRAWN ON U.S. ACCOUNTS OR WITH INTERNATIONAL
MONEY ORDERS IN U.S. FUNDS.
There will be no refund for duplicate entries.
Dogs need be present only for scheduled judging and will be released if not needed for further judging.
Dogs allowed in rings during judging only.
Dogs must be ready for judging. Neither the club nor its Superintendents will be responsible or obligated to furnish any service for notifying exhibitors or their agents of Breed or Class Judging. Judges need not wait for any dog holding up a class.
Owners or agents alone are responsible for the presence of their dogs in the judging rings.
The Club reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value.
All trophies must be claimed the day of the show - None will be mailed.
All checks issued as prizes are the sole responsibility of the recipient. Lost, stolen and/or misplaced checks will not be
replaced. Checks are valid for 90 days. The Superintendent is not able to cash checks.
RETURNED CHECKS/DECLINED CREDIT/DEBIT CARDS do not constitute a valid entry fee. Fees must be paid in guaranteed
funds. Checks will not be accepted. The Superintendent will add a fee for completing the transaction and/or reprocessing
the entries. Repeated occurrences from the same exhibitors may result in their being put on a CASH ONLY basis.
Entry Fee will not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by Veterinarian or judge or barred from
competition by action of the Show Committee.
Exhibitors should follow their veterinarian’s recommendation to assure their dogs are free of internal and external parasites,
any communicable diseases and have appropriate vaccinations.
No entry fees will be refunded if the Show cannot open or be completed by reason of riots, civil disturbances, fire, extreme
and/or dangerous weather conditions, an Act of God, public emergency, act of a public enemy, strikes or any other cause
beyond the control of the Club or the Superintendent.
The show giving Club, the Show Superintendent, their agents, employees, etc, assume no responsibility for any loss, damage
or injury sustained by exhibitors, handlers, or to any of their dogs or property and further assume no responsibility for injury
to children.
No entry shall be made and no entry shall be accepted which specifies any condition as to its acceptance. Entries will not be
accepted without fees, signatures or the “Agreement” on the reverse side of the Official AKC Entry Form.
Changes, additions or corrections to entry forms must be received in writing prior to close of entries. Those received by telephone are not acceptable.
Refunds of $3.00 & less will not be issued due to the costs of processing.
An administrative fee of $2.00 will be charged for all cancellations or changes made prior to closing of entries.

The Junior Dog Judging Contest is open to contestants from 9 to 19 years of age.
• Contestants will judge three to four breeds with up to four dogs in a class. Points will be calculated regarding accuracy of placing the dogs on merit of their conformation to their breed
standard and reasons of placement.
• An AKC Judge will determine the proper placing of a class and the number of points for correct placing and reasoning scores.

The International Kennel Club of Chicago, Inc. & Pei Pals Rescue in cooperation
with The American Kennel Club, invite exhibitors to register for AKC's Canine Good
Citizen or the AKC's Canine Good Citizen Advance (CGCA) Tests to be held on
Friday & Saturday, February 21 & 22, 2014. Microchipping Friday, Saturday &
Sunday.
The CGC testing is limited to 30 dogs. All dogs scheduled for testing on Saturday or
Microchipping Saturday or Sunday must be entered in the International Kennel
Club of Chicago, Inc. shows. Testing/Microchipping will be held 9:00 am to 3:00
pm. Every effort will be made not to schedule conflict with the entrant's breed or
obedience judging schedule.

Fancy with our wonderful breed specimens, Blackhawk Kennel
Club, Inc. offers a special entry fee of $17.50 for Bred-byExhibitor Class competitors. There will be no additional entry
fee to compete in the Bred-by-Exhibitor Spectacular.
Best Bred-by-Exhibitor in each breed will be judged after
Best of Breed by the Regular judge.
The Winner of Best Bred-by-Exhibitor in each breed is eligible to compete in the Bred-by-Exhibitor Group. Group
Winners will go on to compete for Best Bred-by-Exhibitor in
Show.
There is always the possibility that in the normal judging procedure an automatic
Bred-by-Exhibitor in breed may occur. If this occurs in the breed by a Bred-by-Exhibitor
entry placing Best of Winners or Best of Breed, the Best Bred-by-Exhibitor will be automatic.
The Bred-by-Exhibitor entry must be handled throughout
by a qualified person (breeder/owner of record).
A Best of Winners or Best of Breed award by a Bred-byExhibitor entry will automatically make the winner of this

6-9 month & 9-12 month puppy classes at our show.
One of the most important classes in the dog show
finally gets recognition. The breed judge will select the
Best of Breed Puppy. Group time & order will be announced.
SPECIAL NOTICE
REGARDING VETERAN JUDGING
The International Kennel Club of Chicago will offer a regular class for
Veteran Dogs & Veteran Bitches seven (7) years & older on Saturday,
February 22, 2014 in each breed & variety competition. In accordance
with the rules of the American Kennel Club, dogs that are neutered &
bitches that are spayed are ineligible to compete. Dogs & bitches will
be eligible both days for Best of Breed/Variety competition. Veteran entry
fee for Saturday, February 22, 2014 is $29.00. Specialty clubs requiring
ages other than 7 years & older will prevail for that individual breed as
listed on page 17.

All Norwich Terriers shall be eligible for Sweepstakes if they are 6 months of age but not more
than 18 months of age on the day of the show. All dogs shown in Sweepstakes must also be
entered in a Regular Class. Sweepstakes will be judged prior to the Regular Classes. Indicate
"Sweepstakes" and age division on the regular entry form under Additional Classes.
Sweepstakes entries must be shown by their breeder, owner or a person designated by
them other than a professional handler. A professional handler includes anyone who has
received remuneration for handling a dog.

on a Base was retired by Paul V Schulz & Susan Kipp & is generously offered by them through the
Norwich Terrier Club of Greater Chicago for competition at its Specialty Shows only. For permanent possession, must be won three times by the identical owner(s), not necessarily with the
same dog nor at consecutive shows. The Trophy is to remain in the possession of the Club until it
is retired. A Pewter Tea Pot is the Commemorative Trophy to be retained by this year’s winner
offered by James & Lorrie Kinney, Moorcraft Norwich.
BEST OF OPPOSITE SEX TO BEST OF BREED - The STARFIRE CHALLENGE TROPHY, a Crystal Vase on
a Base is offered by Janet Szewczyk through the Norwich Terrier Club of Greater Chicago for competition at its Specialty Shows only. For permanent possession, must be won three times by the
identical owner(s), not necessarily with the same dog nor at consecutive shows. The Trophy is to
remain in the possession of the Club until it is retired. A Hurricane Lamp is the Commemorative

REGARDING VETERAN JUDGING
The International Kennel Club of Chicago will offer a regular class for
Veteran Dogs & Veteran Bitches seven (7) years & older on Sunday,
February 23, 2014 in each breed & variety competition. In accordance
with the rules of the American Kennel Club, dogs that are neutered &
bitches that are spayed are ineligible to compete. Dogs & bitches will
be eligible both days for Best of Breed/Variety competition. Veteran entry
fee for Sunday, February 23, 2014 is $29.00. Specialty clubs requiring ages
other than 7 years & older will prevail for that individual breed as listed
on page 17.

RULES & REGULATIONS - INTERNATIONAL KENNEL CLUB OF CHICAGO
McCormick Place LAKESIDE, 23rd & Lake Shore Dr., Chicago, IL - February 22-23, 2014
1.
Subletting of Space. No exhibitor shall assign, sublet or apportion the whole or any part of
the space allotted, without the knowledge and consent of management. Each firm represented in the show must sign the regular contract form for space.
2.
Distribution of Advertising Matter. Distribution of circulars or advertising matter of any
description, including souvenirs, will be restricted to the exhibitor’s booth.
3.
Arrangements of Exhibits. Exhibitors must agree to arrange their exhibits so as not to
obstruct the general view of others. All Booth contents shall be within the confines of
the booth space 15’ in depth 10’ wide and NO HIGHER THAN 8’ in height.
4
Installation of Exhibits. Set-up of exhibits and removal of all boxes/crates must be completed by Friday, February 21, 2014 at a time specified in the letter regarding set-up.
5.
Dismantling. Exhibitor must agree not to dismantle booth or do any packing until after
the last award has been presented on Sunday, February 23, 2014. Exhibitors violating this
rule may not be invited to return.
6.
Care of Building. Acceptance of exhibit space makes it obligatory on the part of exhibitors
and employees that they shall not deface, injure or mar McCormick Place. Any damage
done shall be made good by them to IKC/McCormick Place as their interests appear.
7.
Insurance. Exhibitors wishing to insure their goods must do so at their own expense. The
show assumes no responsibility for the safety of exhibitor’s property, its offices, agents or
employees from theft, damage by fire, accident or other cause, but will use reasonable care
to protect them against such loss.
8.
Restrictions. Management reserves the right to restrict exhibitors, which because of noise
or for any other reason become objectionable. This restriction includes persons, things, conduct, printed material, etc. which might be objectionable to management. No balloons are
allowed at the show.
9.
Emergencies. Rules are subject to revision by Management and all points not covered are
subject to their decision.
10.
Liability. Neither the IKC nor McCormick Place will be liable for fulfillment of this contract
as the delivery of space if non-delivery is due to anyone of the following causes: building
destroyed by fire, act of God, public enemy, strikes, and authority of the law or any cause
beyond their control.
11.
IKC Rule. All concessions are subject to acceptance by IKC Dog Show Committee and any
display not complying with the rules will be subject to cancellation without refund of
money. All material for display purposes must be supplied by concessionaire and must
adhere to the regulations of the Chicago Fire Dept. No livestock may be used. No display of
materials can be removed at anytime without a special release signed by Show Chairman.
12.
AKC Rule. This space is sold with the understanding that should the privileges of The AKC
be withdrawn from the purchaser of this space prior to the carrying out of this contract, this
contract is hereby automatically cancelled and any money paid by purchasers for such
space shall be refunded.
13.
Un-entered Dogs. All dogs not entered in the dog show must have an un-entered dog
pass. Please request one for each dog when you send in your contract.
14.
Age of Un-entered Dogs. No dogs shall be sold, adopted or placed at the dog show. All
dogs brought in with an un-entered dog pass must be 6 months old or older per The
American Kennel Club.

Unsightly & objectionable advertising matter will not be allowed in the benching area. The attention of the Exhibitor is called to Chapter 13, Section 4, of the
Dog Show Rules. Damage to benching equipment will be paid for by
exhibitor/responsible party.

Dogs must arrive by 9:00 am & remain in the assigned benching area until the
announced release time (Saturday no later than 3:30 pm and Sunday no later
than 3:00 pm).

There will be no crates furnished for any breed. You must bring your own.

All dogs must be benched if they remain at the shows after dogs are released.

Dogs must be in assigned benching area when not being groomed or shown in
the ring. Benching rules will be strictly enforced.

Dogs may be left in the building overnight Wednesday through Saturday. Dogs
cannot be left in the building Sunday night.

Security personnel will be kept on duty, but it must be distinctly understood
that their presence is a courtesy to exhibitors. The Club, its members, directors,
agents, Superintendent and/or Superintendents & the employees of the said
Kennel Clubs and/or their Superintendents will not be liable for any loss or injury
which may be sustained through the disappearance, loss, theft, injury and/or
death of dogs entered in the said show, whether said disappearance, loss, theft,
injury and/or death is caused by the negligence or carelessness of said Kennel
Club, its members, directors, agents, superintendent and/or employees of its
superintendent and/or superintendents or by negligence of any other person or
by any other cause.

Failure to comply with the above conditions may result in disciplinary action
being taken by the AKC.

The Chicago-style benching concept will be used by the International
Kennel Club of Chicago, Inc. This plan was conceived to make the
benched show more comfortable, convenient & attractive to all
exhibitors & spectators. NOTE: there will be NO separate grooming
areas. All grooming will be done at the assigned benches. Public exercise pens will be provided in the benching area.
1 All dogs entered by an exhibitor or agent/handler can be benched
together. If you are an exhibitor/agent & you wish to have all your
dogs benched together, you MUST make a request in writing. This
request MUST include your name(s), the AKC registration number
& breed of those dogs you want benched together. Benching together of different breeds will ONLY be allowed in the MULTI-BREED
AREA. A form is included in this premium list for your convenience. THIS FORM MUST ACCOMPANY ENTRIES.
2 ** Only dogs of the SAME BREED will be benched together in the
breed benching areas.
3 A special index will be included in the Judging Program to help you
locate your benching area. The Superintendent will provide name
signs on benches & rows for quick identification of benching areas.
4 All exhibitors & agents will be permitted to have their grooming
equipment only immediately in front of their respective benches.
There will be no separate areas for grooming or crates. Crates will
not be permitted in any aisle or at any ring. All crates MUST be in
the assigned benching area & in rows as marked.
5 Assigned bench numbers will not be permitted to be changed or
altered in any manner.
6 All dogs must be benched in accordance with the AKC Rules
Applying to Dog Shows, Chapter 13, Sections 1, 2, 3 & 4. This will
be strictly enforced by the Superintendent & the Show Committee.
The Superintendent will provide handlers/agents in the Multi-Breed
sections only with name signs in their assigned area benching &

Permission has been granted by the Barn Hunt Association, LLC for the
holding of these barn hunt trials under BHA Rules and Regulations.
Open to all Breeds and Mixed Breeds of All Sizes
Four Indoor Trials - Earn a Title in One Weekend!
Classes offered each day:
Trial 1= Instinct Test (optional class), Novice, Open, Senior, Master
Trial 2 = Novice, Open, Senior, Master
There may be a short lunch break at the judge’s discretion.
Day-to-day and trial-to-trial move ups available both days.
The Trials will run in the simultaneous trial format in a single ring.
Ring schedules for other events will be accommodated when possible.

EXHIBITOR INFORMATION
Dogs may enter both the Instinct Test and Novice class in the same trial until
the dog has earned the RATN title and then they cannot enter the Instinct Test.
Dogs earning a title in Trial 1 on Saturday/Sunday may be moved up to the next
class for the second trial. This is up to the handler and not required. Move-ups
will be accepted on Saturday/Sunday up until 5 minutes after the conclusion of
Trial 1. Move-up forms will be available at the Secretary’s table.
All entries must be accompanied by entry fees to be valid. A returned check
does not constitute a valid entry. There will be a $50.00 fee for all returned
checks.
No entries will be taken over the phone or electronically.

EXHIBITOR INFORMATION
All dogs must be on a short leash and under control while on trial grounds.
Approved collars include flat snap or buckle collars of solid construction and
leather or nylon leads. Limited slip martingale collars are allowed. Single piece
slip collars/leads are allowed. Harnesses, with the exception of head-halter
types, are allowed. Dogs MUST run “naked,” without a collar/harness.
Collars/harnesses which can be easily and quickly removed and replaced are
strongly encouraged. NO flexi-leads allowed.

Dogs will be run in height order with dogs being handled by the same person separated
into different staged groups.
HEIGHT DIVISIONS
Dogs 13" and under, small • Dogs 13.1 to 18", medium • Dogs over 18", large
AWARDS: Rosettes will be awarded for first through fourth place in Novice, Open, Senior
and Master classes in each height division. Ribbons will be awarded for all qualifiers in
the regular classes and the Instinct Test. High Novice, High Open, High Senior, and High
Master rosettes will be offered. Title rosettes will be awarded to all dogs earning a RATN,
RATO, RATS or RATM title.
Bitches in season are eligible for entry but will be required to be kept separate from
all other dogs and will be run in panties at the end of their class/trial. Entry fees for
bitches that come into season will be refunded until February 14, 2014, if you wish to
withdraw. If bringing a bitch in season, please inform the trial committee prior to the
trial, and you must inform all exhibitors at the judge’s briefing.
BENCHING INFORMATION

A hard-sided crate for your dog is required.
Ex-pens dedicated to Barn Hunt entries only will be provided.
Crating space will be provided at a nearby bench designated for Barn Hunt entries.
Early Release for Performance only dogs!
All dogs will be required to be on the “bench” no later than 9:00 am. When the entire
obedience, rally or barn hunt class your dog is entered in has been judged and all awards
given out, dogs entered in that class will be released. You must present your early release
slip to the guard at the assigned door in order to be released.
If your dog is entered in both conformation and performance events, you will be required
to be benched the entire time.

AGREEMENT SHALL BE SETTLED BY ARBITRATION PURSUANT TO THE APPLICABLE RULES OF THE AMERICAN ARBITRATION
ASSOCIATION. HOWEVER, PRIOR TO ARBITRATION ALL APPLICABLE AKC BYLAWS, RULES, REGULATIONS AND PROCEDURES
MUST FIRST BE FOLLOWED AS SET FORTH IN THE AKC CHARTER AND BYLAWS, RULES, REGULATIONS, PUBLISHED POLICIES
AND GUIDELINES.
INSTRUCTIONS
1. (Variety) if you are entering a dog of breed in which there are varieties for show purposes, please designate the particular variety you are
entering i.e., Cocker Spaniel (solid color black, ASCOB, parti-color). Beagles (not exceeding 13 in. over 13 in. but not exceeding 15 in.).
Dachshunds (longhaired, smooth, wirehaired), Bull Terriers (colored, white), Manchester Terriers (standard, toy), Chihuahuas (smooth coat,
long coat), English Toy Spaniels (King Charles and Ruby, Blenheim and Prince Charles), Poodles (toy, miniature, standard), Collies (rough,
smooth),
2. The following categories of dogs may be entered and shown in Best of Breed competition; Dogs that are Champions of Record and dogs
which, according to their owner’s records, have completed the requirements for a championship, but whose championships are unconfirmed. The showing of unconfirmed Champions in Best of Breed competition is limited to a period of 90 days from the date of the show
where the dog completed the requirements for a championship.
3. (Event Class) Consult the classification in this premium list. If the event class in which you are entering your dog is divided, then, in addition to designating the class, specify the particular division of the class in which you are entering your dog, i.e., age division, color division, weight division.
4. A dog must be entered in the name of the person who actually owned it at the time entries for an event closed. If a registered dog has
been acquired by a new owner, it must be entered in the name of its new owner in any event for which entries closed after the date of
acquirement, regardless of whether the new owner has received the registration certificate indicating that the dog is recorded in his
name. State on entry form whether transfer application has been mailed to the A.K.C. (For complete rules refer to Chapter 11, Section 3).
5. Mixed Breed dogs entering classes for Agility, Obedience and Rally trials should mark Breed as AKC Canine Partners Listed Dog “AllAmerican Dog/Mixed Breed.” Variety, Breeder, Sire, Dam information shall remain blank for mixed breed entrants.
