A MASS WITH A HEALING SERVICE PLACE: DATE: PLACE: TIME: Celebrant: ST. LINUS CATHOLIC CHURCH 13915 Shoemaker Avenue, Norwalk, CA 90650 Monday, April 16, 2012 St. Linus Catholic Church 7:30 PM Fr. Thomas Asia Fr. Thomas Asia is an associate pastor at Holy Family Church in Artesia. He taught catechism in the Philippines and inside the prison. Planning a career as a journalist, he attended and graduated from the De La Salle College with a degree of AB Philosophy. Responding to the call of the Holy Spirit to enter the priesthood, much to the resentment of his mother who longed for him to become a doctor, Fr. Thomas followed the desires of his heart and entered the Marian Missionaries of the Holy Cross (MMHC) Missionary as a seminarian, a decision that created a discord between him and his family. He was ordained in December 1998. There is a saying that a mother’s heart is always a forgiving heart and on the day of his ordination, his mother was present, tears in her eyes and very proud to send off his son as a servant of the Lord. He later pursued a Masters in Theology at the University of Santo Thomas. His assignments included being a formatter for young seminarians, as well as acting as the assistant novice director for MMHC’s house in Bacolod. St. Philomena Church in Carson was his previous assignment. He finds his priestly role at Holy Family Church a demanding and inspiring one as he continues to evangelize in the Lord’s vineyard. Come and bring your family and friends and receiving the healing gifts of the Holy Spirit.
