Bratislava boasts the world’s longest bridge with a single pylon
and one cable-stayed plane with 360° panorama view.
Since 2007, Slovakia has been the world´s
largest producer of cars per capita. There
are currently three automobile assembly
plants: PSA Peugeot Citroen´s in Trnava,
Kia Motor´s in Žilina and Volkswagen´s in
Bratislava, where the flagship Audi Q7
is assembled exclusively.

Slovakia is outstandingly rich on mineral
waters, many of which possess healing
properties. Over 1300 mineral water
sources are located in Slovakia. Many
of these are thermal (with a temperature
above 20° C). These mineral and thermal
sources formed the ground which bore
many of the world-renowned health and
recreational spa centres.

Andy Warhol
Andy Warhol was an American painter,
printmaker, filmmaker and a leading
figure in the visual art movement known
as Pop Art. His parents lived in Miková
near Medzilaborce, Slovakia. There is a
museum in Medzilaborce and a gallery
near Bratislava dedicated to Warhol´s
life and art.
Tatra chamois

The Tatra chamois lives exclusively in Tatra Mountains,
ranked as one of the most important national parks world-wide.
Štefan Banič, the inventor of a military
parachute, the first parachute ever
deployed in actual use, was born in
Smolenice, Slovakia. Banič constructed
a prototype of a parachute in 1913 and
tested it jumping first from a 15-storey
building and subsequently from an
airplane in 1914.
Nosferatu
The first film adaptation of Nosferatu, the
silent movie: „Nosferatu: Eine Symphonie
des Grauens”, directed by F.W. Murnau
in 1922 was shot on the locations of
Orava Castle, Oravský Podzámok and
Dolný Kubín in Slovakia.
