Adrenaline Štefan Banič Andy Warhol Andy Warhol was an American painter, printmaker, filmmaker and a leading figure in the visual art movement known as Pop Art. His parents lived in Miková near Medzilaborce, Slovakia. There is a museum in Medzilaborce and a gallery near Bratislava dedicated to Warhol´s life and art. Tatra chamois Surprisingly diferent The Tatra chamois lives exclusively in Tatra Mountains, ranked as one of the most important national parks world-wide. Štefan Banič, the inventor of a military parachute, the first parachute ever deployed in actual use, was born in Smolenice, Slovakia. Banič constructed a prototype of a parachute in 1913 and tested it jumping first from a 15-storey building and subsequently from an airplane in 1914. Nosferatu The first film adaptation of Nosferatu, the silent movie: „Nosferatu: Eine Symphonie des Grauens”, directed by F.W.
