Adelphi Hotel Client Rich Bell Capital Location Saratoga Springs, NY Design DRA Architects & Ryan Biggs Associates Market Hospitality Service General Construction Project Profile This historic 1877 hotel in downtown Saratoga Springs is in the process of a complete multi-million dollar renovation. The structural work to the current building consists of the removal of the existing concrete basement floor, bedrock, and the entire first floor of the hotel. Some framing is also being removed and replaced throughout the building. The renovation of the grand front veranda includes the structural restoration of seven, 3-story columns. BCI was responsible for successfully splitting each of the veranda columns in half, inserting a steel beam into the center of the columns, then reassembling them allowing the historic integrity of the building to be preserved. Other challenging work includes the jacking of the entire structure from the second floor which will aid in leveling the roof. New structural steel will be put in place on the first floor as well as framing for the existing second floor. New concrete floors will be poured at the basement and first floor levels. A new elevator tower is being constructed through the existing structure. A 5-story conservatory will also be added to the property. It will feature a brick exterior stair tower and elevator. 20 Loudonville Rd. Albany, NY 12204 T 518.426.3200 F 518.426.5205 www.bciinc.com
