Oktoberfest - Lynfred Winery
Oktoberfest Grape Stomp & Pig Roast October 1 & 2 W hen the grapes begin to arrive at Lynfred and the crush begins we all know what’s right around the corner. . . Lynfred’s annual Oktoberfest! The celebration of Oktoberfest at Lynfred began over two decades ago and continues to be a festival that is remembered by all. Two days of German sing-a-longs, grape spitting, grape stomping and cork tossing! Bring your friends, bring your family and bring your appetite! The Annual Oktoberfest & Pig Roast celebration will be held October 1 & 2 this year. Although the Oktoberfest has become quite famous for its grape stomping and grape spitting contests, the king of the weekend always ends up being the roasted pig, which you can enjoy either as a sandwich or a full meal, served with warm German potato salad and all the fixings. You can’t have a festival in the Midwest without grilled bratwurst, chili and roasted corn - our sweet corn has been said to be ‘heaven on earth’. If your sweet tooth is chomping at the bit, try a taffy apple, apple strudel or German chocolate cake. Naturally all of these delights are beautiful when paired with Lynfred wine! www.lynfredwinery.com Saturday, October 1: 3 pm - 9 pm Sunday, October 2: Noon - 7 pm $3 Entrance Fee / 13 & Under Get In Free Food / Beverage Tickets Available for $1 Each Wines Available by the Bottle or Glass Accordion Sing A Long German Oom-pah Band Cork Tossing Grape Stomping Grape Spitting Best Lederhosen & Best ‘I Love Lucy Stomping Grapes’ Costume Contests Oktoberfest Schedule Grape Stomp & Pig Roast October 1 & 2 Saturday Sunday 3 pm - 9 pm Noon - 7 pm Music Music German Dancers 3:00-3:30pm Accordion Sing-a-Long 3:00-5:00pm German Band: Happy Wanderers 5:30-9:00 pm German Dancers 12:30-1:00pm Accordion Sing-a-Long 1:00-3:00pm German Band: Happy Wanderers 3:00-7:00 pm Activities Activities Kid’s Grape Spitting 3:30-4:30 pm Kid’s Cork Tossing 4:30-5:30 pm Kid’s Grape Stomping Adult Grape Spitting 5:30-6:30 Costume Contest 6:30 pm Guest Emcee: Jeff Hoover of WGN-TV Adult Grape Stomping 7:00-7:30 pm Adult ‘Couple’ Stomping 7:30 pm Kid’s Grape Spitting 1:00-2:00 pm Kid’s Cork Tossing 2:00-3:00 pm Kid’s Grape Stomping Adult Grape Spitting 3:00-4:00 pm Costume Contest 4:00 pm Guest Emcee: Jeff Hoover of WGN-TV Adult Grape Stomping 4:30 - 5:30 pm Adult ‘Couple’ Stomping 5:30 pm Schedules are subject to delays due to the number of participants.
