As summer is finally here, I would like to bring up a concern of mine, that as a responsible pet owner, needs to be addressed. Several pet owners do not pick up after their dogs. We know this not only by what is left behind but by several pet owners not having bags on their walks. With so many new neighbors having children, this is not only unsanitary and unhealthy, it is illegal. Could you please let everyone know that it would be greatly appreciated if they would pick up after their dogs, no matter how small and keep our beautiful neighborhood just that..... beautiful! Thank you, Nanci R. Scott Where does Clifton Beach End? What has come to be our largest concern about living in Clifton Park is that our beach property is next to Clifton Beach. As I noted in a previous email with our concerns of children playing under our cliff. We also had kids with a sense of adventure appear in our backyard. They seem surprised not to find themselves in a secret garden, but instead beside our hostas. I don’t think even Indiana Jones would try to climb shale. We wish that Clifton Beach would put up a sign noting that Clifton Beach Ends in wood similar to the guardhouse signage. It would be so much nicer that a metal one by us saying “no trespassing” Jean Mazgaj Bjorn Our First “Traditional Friday Night Supper..... Kids from Clifton Beach having fun this summer! Hermit Club Alley Party "The Last Night of the Proms" with concertmaster Priscilla Eva and Clifton Club guests Lynne and David Della Donna. From the Clifton Club..... July 2011 Dear friends and neighbors: Well, Mother Nature has not been kind to us as we have finally completed Phase 1 of our back yard revitalization. The irrigation system is working beautifully, the sod looks great and it will only be another week or two before members and their guests will be able to fully utilize the back yard. We have also added two new pedestals with urns and floral arrangements in front of the back yard gates and will be adding some more plantings around the patio. Next up on our list of improvements will be some exterior painting and new carpeting in the pub dining room. While the June Sunset Wine Tasting was moved from the beach to the Pub due to weather conditions, it was still a great success with approximately 30 members and guests in attendance. For July, we have an excellent line up of events in store for you: Friday, July 8th we will hold another sunset wine tasting from 8:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. (call the day of the event for picnic table locations); Sunday, July 17th we will be hosting another Front Porch Concert & Cookout from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.; and Saturday, July 23rd, we’ll have the blowout event of the summer, our second annual Island Hopping Party. This year we invite Clifton Park residents who are not yet members of the Clifton Club to join in the fun. The party is sure to be a great time and a great way to get together with friends and neighbors in the middle of the summer. Call the Club for more details and to make reservations, 521-3051. Park guests may pay by cash or check at the door. See the enclosed flyer for the details of each event. Please make your reservations at least a week in advance for all events so our kitchen staff can place their orders accordingly and so that the remaining staff is fully prepared to provide excellent service to you and your guests. We truly dislike cancelling events but we have to make our decisions based on the reservations we have in place at least 4-5 days prior to the event. We hope you are taking advantage of our arrangements with Avon Oaks. If you have any questions or feedback about Avon Oaks, please feel free to contact me at any time at [email protected].
