Developed by the NCTE, it provides thousands of resources in a digital database covering all subject areas of the primary curriculum. All resources are reviewed and categorised by a panel of teachers. Both select resources from the database according to syllabus topics and sub-topics and may be sorted by rank or most recently added. Resources are reviewed by teachers teaching the Irish curriculum and are presented with this in mind. Reviews include learning outcomes, extension activities and, where relevant, special needs notes. 4. Enter a keyword and a list of weblinks, images and articles will be retrieved. Aside from a large database of resources Scoilnet has several other engaging sections specifically created for primary teachers and students. Primary Students Homepage (www.scoilnet.ie/StudentsPrimary.aspx) Designed for primary students this colourful page features jokes, brainbenders, themepages, the student Resource Finder, the colouring corner and a point of access to Storytime. Storytime (www.scoilnet.ie/StudentsPrimary.aspx) Storytime encourages students to publish their stories and focuses on improving students' vocabulary, reading, writing and critical thinking skills. Each week a top story is selected and published. Themepages (www.scoilnet.ie/Primary_Themepages.shtm) The themepages present a creative collection of cross curricular and seasonal resources that highlight strands or strand units. Examples include Vikings, Romans, Energy, Print, World War II, Electricity, Theatre, Reading and Shapes All Around Us. Interactives (www.scoilnet.ie/interactive.shtm) Interactive timelines, images, maps, drag-and-drop and matching activities for various areas of the curriculum are accessible.
