Chairman of the Board
Dear Fellow Chamber Members,
Summer is finally here! Take a look at the calendar - there is so much to get
involved in, and this is a perfect time to bring new members to find out what
Chamber life is all about.

This year’s annual Buy Into Bay Area Business and Wellness Expo created lots of
buzz and proved that the Clear Lake area has a thriving and prosperous business
community. We had record attendance and all of the booths were sold out! I
want to give a special thank you to the Event Chair, Angela Bivens with The Pet
Palace and the committee for all of their hard work making this event beyond
successful. We also want to thank our returning Exclusive Wellness
Sponsor Houston Methodist St. John Hospital, as well as Host Sponsor,
Gloria Dei Lutheran Church and major sponsors, Berkeley Eye Center Bay
Area, Norman Frede Cheverolet, The Pet Palace and contributing sponsor
American Business Machines. The Chamber is already taking reservations
for next year’s event so make your plans and get your entry in early to be a
part of this fantastic event. It is a perfect way to Buy Into Bay Area.
Following right on the heels of the EXPO, this year’s “No Experience Necessary”
Bowling Tournament, was a wonderful combination of music, food, fun and laughter. Once again, Kathy Dunham,
Silver Streak Construction, did a fantastic job chairing this event. A huge thank you to her and the committee
for all the wonderful door prizes and yummy food donated for the night of fun and games. The tournament is a
great event for teambuilding and a great chance to thank your employees for all their hard work throughout the
year. Thank you to AMF Bowling Center, Webster, for being the host facility of this awesome event! The remodel
of their bowling center is out of sight!
Looking to get your feet wet with a short term committee?
Well, look no further. The New Teachers’ Luncheon and
the Chairman’s Ball committees are two tremendous ways
to have fun all while staying connected. These are
fun events for you to jump in and get involved this
summer.
Lastly, our annual Membership Campaign is right around
the corner. Think about who you know that would make
a great member. I hope everyone will get involved in the
campaign. The strength of our voice and community is
greater in numbers.
