FIREWORKS - Clear Lake Area Chamber of Commerce
JuLY 2006 Horizons A Monthly Publication of the Clear Lake Area Chamber of Commerce from the... Chairman of the Board Dear Friends, On July 4, 2006, we will celebrate the 230th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, establishing the free and sovereign nation of the United States of America. As we celebrate with fireworks and back yard picnics, let us not forget to remember the high cost of the freedom that we now enjoy. Ever since our nation won its freedom we have fought and sacrificed to maintain our freedoms and those of many people around the world. Hundreds of thousands of lives have been laid upon this alter as a sacrifice for the gift of freedom, yet we often take this priceless gift for granted. However, the real enemies of freedom are not the tyrants and dictators of rouge nations around the world, the real enemies of freedom are apathy and selfishness. Freedom requires that we exercise the rights given to us by voting and becoming involved in our nation’s and community’s affairs. Additionally, preserving freedom will, at times, require personal sacrifice of time, resources and energy. I am grateful to be a part of this fabulous nation, community and Chamber, and I thank those in our local communities and members of our Chamber, who have given and continue to give of themselves to preserve the gift of freedom. May God continue to Bless America. Fourth of July FIREWORKS Over Clear Lake "Salute to America" Fireworks begin at 9:30 pm. Celebrate America's independence with this Clear Lake tradition!
