Founded thirty years ago, Salco Products was born from the idea of replacing
theft prone outlet caps with ones made from plastic at a quarter of the cost.
From these beginnings, Salco went on to become an innovator in the railcar
industry by developing the vented hatch cover for plastic resin shippers.
Through the years, Salco Products began providing service throughout
the shipping community, which today includes everything from tank car
components to parts for trucking.

Acid
The acquisition of the Hazarsolve product line in 2004 has
broadened Salco’s product offering to include loading
and unloading components for use in corrosive services.
These components include the #1 selling UHMWPE dip
tube in the industry, as well as UHMW parallel instrument
tees, blind flanges, and reducing flanges. The Hazarsolve
product line has also helped transport Salco from the rail
industry into plant and processing areas.
General Purpose
As the most commonly built tank car, the general purpose design
covers a wide variety of non-hazardous commodities that require many
different components and configurations.
Our manway arrangement items include manway covers, safety relief
devices, valves, gaskets, eyebolts, and more. Our bottom outlet offering
includes unloading adapters, downlegs, and bottom outlet caps.
With thousands of tank car associated parts in our inventory, Salco can
help prepare you for your HM216b and NAR reduction programs.
Pressure
Salco’s strong relationship with its channel partners allows us to
be a premier supplier of pressure car safety relief valves. Pressure
plates, studs, security rings, and housing domes are also available.

Salco’s innovative approach since 1983 has resulted in improvements on
current designs, as well as developing new products. This allows us to improve
the unloading time of hopper cars and helps our customers keep up with the

covers, gaskets, handwheels, air inlet
caps, and valve cover plates are in
stock and can ship straightaway.
Salco’s part offering for Carbon Black
railcars is perfect for retrofit programs
or new car production. Our 8”, 16”, and
20” hatch cover designs adapt easily to
existing mounting arrangements; we
also supply replacement parts for OEM
butterfly valves.
Plastic Pellet / Resin
As the original designer behind the most
risk-free way to vent a hopper car, Salco
takes pride in its vented hatch cover. With
millions of our covers in service over the past
20 years, the material quality and flawless
design speak for themselves. With conversion
arrangements available for every major car
manufacturer, Salco can meet your vented
and non-vented hatch cover needs.
Salco also supplies OEM bottom outlet
gates as well as our own 5131 and Pullman
Micromatic conversions designs.

Pressure Differential
Salco keeps 90% of our pressure
differential components in stock. This is
part of our commitment for immediate
and on time shipment of stock items.
Our inventory contains components for
all manufacturers of pressure differential
cars. Aerator pads, hatch covers, cam
lever assemblies, and Y-pipes are just
a small sampling of the hundreds of
available items.
Salco offers items for
plant process.
Over the last ten years our business has
evolved. Our customers have driven us
beyond the transportation side of products,
and have driven us to create the same type
of solutions within the plants/processing

Loading / Unloading / Transloading
Salco’s loading/unloading/transloading options
ensure product is transported efficiently to keep
your operations running smoothly.
Accessories
Replacement items such as safety vent surge protectors,
dip tube flex ends, spacer flanges and sample devices.
Pipe and Fittings
Seamless construction and maintenance free UHMWPE
dip tubes, piping and fittings are corrosive resistant
for use in the Chlor-Alkali chemical industry.

Salco Products’ Service Center located in Tomball, TX,
repairs, reconditions, and performs upgrades to hopper
car outlet gates. With certified welders that meet AAR
requirements, Salco’s Service Center saves our customers
thousands of dollars each year by helping them avoid the
purchase of new gates.
A full reconditioning includes inspection, disassembly,
repair of required items, acid washing, rinse, buffing, and
finally reassembly with new gaskets and hardware. Not
only does Salco design upgrades and improvements to
problematic gates, but also designs custom modifications
based on specific customer needs.
