Reflections On the
Gospel
Jesus’s message this
Sunday is one of unity. He and God are one, and we are one with each other and with God. What a
perfect message for Mother’s Day! In the original Mother’s Day Proclamation of 1870, it could be
said that Julia Ward Howe understood that unity better than most. Addressing mothers across borders, she wrote: “Arise, then, women of this day! Arise, all women who have hearts, whether your
baptism be that of water or tears! ... Take counsel with each other as to the means whereby the great
human family can live in peace....to promote the alliance of the different nationalities, the amicable
settlement of international questions, and the great and general interests of peace.” May we, men and
women, parents and those without children, answer this call to unity and peace this Mother’s Day.
Our Lady of the Hamptons
Thirty-five members of the parent and local communities participated in the first
-ever Career Day for Prep students at OLH. Representatives from politics, law
enforcement, construction and medicine were among those who offered advice and direction to the
students, under the direction of Mrs. Valerie Hanley.
Prep 7 student John Allan has advanced to the national finals of the National History Bee, having
clinched a spot at the regionals held in New Jersey. He will next compete in Chicago on June 9.
The twenty-five member Hamptonix, the boys’ show chorus, sang the National Anthem at the April
29 Long Island Ducks game in Central Islip.
The registration period leading toward enrollment at OLH for September 2016 is now completed for
grades 3-8, with very limited space available in Pre-K and primary grades. Interested families are
invited to request information packets early.. Students seeking admission to kindergarten must be five
years of age prior to December 1, 2016. Call 283-9140 for details.
A full-certified pre-school program for three and four year old children is offered by OLH at St.
Rosalie’s Parish Center in Hampton Bays. Enrollment information is available at the Southampton
campus.
We invite parishioners and friends to learn more about Our Lady of the Hamptons by visiting the
website www.olh.org. Tours can be arranged at any time, by calling 283

transmitirla a tu niño. De Amoris Laetitia, §§171. Dado
en Roma, el 19 de marzo, del año 2016.
Intenciones del Papa para Mayo

APOSTOLADO HISPANO
Amoris Laetitia, §§174,175. Dado en Roma, 19 de
marzo, del año 2016.
Curso Pre-Bautismal – el 22 de Mayo - El próximo
curso será el domingo, 22 de mayo. No habrá curso el 29
de mayo
