The Minnetrista Heritage Collection Caring for and using museum collections properly consumes time and money. Practical factors such as condition influence collecting decisions. Minnetrista doesn’t promise to exhibit all donated items. Exhibit themes and space limitations determine what items will be exhibited. Some items are exhibited immediately, some in 10 or 20 years and some are used for research or educational purposes. All items, however, add to our knowledge of East Central Indiana. How will i know if my donation has been accepted? The Collections Committee of the Board of Trustees regularly reviews potential donations. If the donation is accepted, donors are notified and asked to sign a document that transfers ownership to Minnetrista. How are Minnetrista’s collections used? The collections are used for: • Exhibits • School programs • Research • Public programs How does Minnetrista preserve collections?
