2015 for the Chamber Mixer that will be hosted
by Superior Product Company, from 5:30 to
7:30 pm. They are located at 474-340 Commercial Way, Susanville. Food and no-host bar will
be available. New beverage product lines will be
introduced and an array of great raffle items will
be given away. You do not need to be a Chamber
member to attend. Everyone is welcomed to stop
by to mingle with friends and business associates

The Annual Rails to Trails Festival,
planned this year for Saturday, October 10,
2015, one of the area’s largest community
events, attracting 1,200 people annually. The
Lassen County Chamber of Commerce and
Lassen Land and Trails Trust are pleased to
be partnering to co-host this year’s event,
held in conjunction with the Bizz Johnson
Marathon. We are looking for event sponsors.
Call the chamber staff at 257-4323 if you are
interested in supporting this great event by
becoming a sponsor.
Executive Assistant Lisa Bernard, who has
been with the Chamber for almost 5 years,
will be leaving this month to accept a new
position with the Sheriff’s Department. She
has been a great asset to the Chamber and
we know that she will do a great job in her
new role. We thank Lisa for her hard work and
dedication and wish her the very best in her
new position. Good Luck Lisa ~ you will be
missed!
We will welcome Katie Anderson to the
chamber staff. She has worked part-time in
the office during her summer breaks while
attending college. Katie is bright, energetic,
and will be a friendly addition to the chamber.
We are excited to have her aboard. Please
join us in making her feel welcomed as the
newest member of our office staff!
● Labor Law Compliance Alert: Mandatory
changes to CFRA Notice B take effect July 1st. You
must post the revised CFRA notice on July 1,
2015 if you are a private-sector employer with 50 or
more employees in 20 or more workweeks in the
current or preceding calendar year, including a joint
employer or successor in interest to a covered
employer; or public agency, including a local or state
government agency, regardless of the number of
employees you employ. Please feel free to contact
the chamber office if you would like a free copy of the
update.
● The LLTT 2015 Farmer’s Market will kick off the
season on Saturday, June 6th, and will be held each
Saturday, thru the month of September, beginning at
8am, at the Historic Susanville Railroad Depot. Call
LLTT at 257-3252 if you would like to participate or
for more information.
● Lassen County Fair Parade- the Chamber will be
coordinating the Fair Parade on Saturday, July 18th,
beginning at 10am. It’s not too early to begin thinking
about your parade entry. The deadline to return you
entry is Friday, July 13th. Show off your community
pride at this year’s Lassen County Fair Parade by
entering your club or business. The Chamber is
looking for volunteers to help with judging and
announcing during the parade; if you would like to
volunteer call the Chamber at 257-4323.
● Your Chamber membership is tax deductible as
a ‘necessary business expense’.
● The Chamber newsletter is being mailed as a hard
copy as well as emailed to all Chamber members. If
you would prefer to only receive an email version
please contact the Chamber office staff at 257-4323.
● The Chamber office is open Monday thru Friday,
9am to 4pm. The Chamber staff is available to
provide information to those visiting the community
and who are looking for area and business
information. You can also check us out on the web at

● Be sure that the Chamber’s visitor lobby has an
adequate supply of your business cards and
brochures on hand to promote your business
throughout the year. This is a free marketing service
that is available to all Chamber members.

organization is planning a special event, be sure to
forward the information to the Chamber office so that
we can add it to the calendar. This is a free service
provided to the entire community.
● Webinars & Online Training Available to Chamber
Members-Many required certified training courses are
available online through Calchamber. The Lassen
County Chamber is able to offer these courses to our
members at a discount. These webinars and online
training courses cover a wide range of subject matter
such as harassment prevention, accounting, ethics,
management principles, customer service and
leadership training. For a complete list of courses

● The Business & Career Network has customized
business assistance available to assist Lassen
County small businesses. One-on-one counseling,
financial & legal counsel, business planning,
marketing and loan preparation are some of the many
services that are available to assist businesses thru
the program. The assistance program will offer
services to eligible businesses at all stages of
business development and operation. For more
information about the Business Assistance Program,
and eligibility requirements, contact Terri HiserHaynes at 257-5057.
● Every year Lassen County Farm Bureau awards
scholarships to students who excel in leadership
skills, demonstrate a commitment to the agricultural
industry, and have academic merit. They are pleased
to announce the 2015 scholarship recipients: Jennifer
Millar, Erica Stevenson, Hannah Fortin, Mariam
Lavacot, Bailey Hagata, Danielle Wood, and Amanda
Bricker.
