This commitment of providing a “Safe & Vibrant Community” and “Community & Neighborhood Livability” are not just phrases adopted by your City Council, but a firm commitment that these values have and will continue to flourish by allocating the resources necessary to accomplish this mission. Lemoore Parks and Recreation is proud to offer the community some incredible places to play and enjoy. Discover all the fun you could be having by checking out the 2016 Recreation Guide. Your Lemoore Parks and Recreation department doesn’t end with great camps and classes, in addition to camps and activities for all ages and interests, the City of Lemoore Parks and Recreation Department also maintains and operates seven parks, the Civic Auditorium, the Veterans Hall and the Recreation Center. We pride ourselves on providing incredible places to play and enjoy at affordable prices. We encourage you to get out this year and enjoy all that Lemoore has to offer. The staff at Lemoore Parks and Recreation want to hear from you. Please take the time to attend a Parks and Recreation Commission meeting and participate in your city’s recreation planning. (Held the second Tuesday each month at 429 C Street at 7:00 pm) It is my pleasure to serve you, Joe Simonson Word from the City Manager A new year is the perfect opportunity to plan for the future and 2016 is shaping up to be a big year for the community! Parks Make Life Better® is the motto of the Lemoore Parks & Recreation Department and this is certainly the case in Lemoore. Participation in recreational activities for residents of all ages are at an all-time high and it is equally evident through the explosion of activities occurring at the Cinnamon Municipal Complex (also known as the Recreation Center). If you haven’t stopped by the Recreation Center, check it out. There are numerous ways to involve yourself or your family in a wide variety of activities. Community parks, recreation facilities and programming are important pillars in a community— they serve as important gathering places and opportunities to connect with your neighbors, family and friends. The City Council will have a busy year ahead with long-term planning, infrastructure improvements, and public safety. In the fall of 2015, the City Council adopted five strategic initiatives that will guide the City through 2020. The five initiatives are: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Safe & Vibrant Community A Growing & Dynamic Economy Fiscally Sound Government Operational Excellence Community & Neighborhood Livability Lemoore’s success is dependent upon building community trust through transparent operations and engagement with the community. My sincere appreciation to the Mayor, City Council, City staff, and the community for their collective leadership and support, as we continue to make Lemoore a wonderful place to live and recreate.
