Jimmy and the Parrots have been playing to delighted crowds for over 10 years. The band has performed all over the country and internationally, the band has traveled to Ocho Rios, Jamaica, St. Kitts, West Indies and the Dominican Republic. One of the most requested Jimmy Buffett cover bands in the country, Jimmy and the Parrots perform not only all the great Buffett songs you love, they also play new and classic rock ‘n roll, as well as outstanding original songs written by lead singer/guitarist Jimmy Maraventano. Their cover songs include favorites by the Beach Boys, Paul Simon, Jerry Jeff Walker, Harry Belafonte, and Bob Marley, among many others. The band truly appeals to all ages and all musical tastes. Their newest CD “Back to the Bayou” was released in 2011. In 2012, they were named “Entertainers of the Year” at the Trop Rock Music Awards!!! Chris Baer, was a simple singer/songwriter who played his tunes at his favorite place in his hometown. He used to sing a song Hippie Farm about growing up in a communal camp as a kid. People started requesting the song by saying "...play that 'Swim Skinny' song...". Swimmy kept writing songs and playing them for his friends. Eventually someone posted a video of Drunken Parrothead Blues on YouTube. The familiar tale of the aftermath of a rowdy Jimmy Buffett tailgate party/concert became a big hit with Parrotheads all over. Swimmy's CD "Naked and Wet" was released July, 2012. This ambitious two CD project picks up where "At Your Own Risk" left off. The "Naked" CD features more bare acoustic tracks. These stripped down tunes are more revealing and personal like I'm Alive, Never Say Never Again, Beachnik Hippie,She Gets Me, and On The Hook. The "Wet" CD features the whole electric rockin' party band. This CD will include crowd favorites like BOOYAH, Walkin To New Orleans, Roosters Call, Back To Belize, and Too Drunk to See Jimmy. Swimmy is joined by "Big" Tom Johnson on guitar and keys. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ www.michaelcrawley.com Michael “Crawdaddy” Crawley was born in Detroit. At the age of eight, Crawdaddy’s grandmother gave him his first harmonica. Between 1972 and 1977 Crawdaddy played in various bands in the Detroit area. In 1977 he moved to Baytown, TX where a friend introduced Crawdaddy to the music of Jimmy Buffett and his harpist, Greg “Fingers” Taylor. Moving to California in 1981, Crawdaddy spent the next 10 years performing up and down the central California coast. In 1991, he moved to Knoxville where his first introduction to the world of Trop Rock was at Knoxville’s Tropic Festival in 1997, where he appeared with St. Somewhere. The next year he travelled to Key West for Meeting of the Minds, the official Convention for Parrot Heads in Paradise. Here he discove red Parrot Heads and their love of Trop Rock music. Over the years he has appeared in countless Trop Rock festivals and Parrot Head events. Crawdaddy is often seen onstage jamming with a wide variety of performers, including some of Jimmy Buffett’s bandmates – the Coral Reefers. He has performed with a variety of musicians like Fingers Taylor, Magic Dick of The Geils Band, Mitch Kashmar of the band War and Mark Hummel, and has opened up for well-respected artists such as BB King, Johnny Winter, Kenny Wayne Shepard, Blackfoot, Delbert McClinton, The Sauce Boss, Marshall Tucker, Mac MacAnally and Nadirah Shakoor. These days Crawdaddy performs in a wide range of musical outfits, spanning many musical genres: a blues duo called the Detroit Daddies; the Trop Rock duo with Tall Paul (affectionately known as “TallDaddy”); a seven-piece blues band called “Jenna and Her Cool Friends” (who will be competing in the 2012 International Blues Challenge in Memphis); a local Jug band called Y’uns; and a rock outfit called Crawdaddy the Band. For over 20 years, Lance “Flipper” Steen has played "Trop/Rock" music. Always a percussionist, backup vocalist and sidekick, first with AJ Bufay" (Cancelada) then with Mark Northey and the Finheads, and most recently with the acclaimed band Phins, and the scaled back 3 piece, The 12 Volt Band, he's been apart of 6 recording projects. His first CD was released just last week. You’re going to love the tropical escape of the ukulele. Let Flipper take you to Paradise! Jim Hoehn Jim Hoehn is a Milwaukee-based journalist/author/songwriter who has carved out a surprisingly successful niche as a performing songwriter since first stumbling out of the pressbox with a guitar. As a career journalist much of it spent as a sportswriter - Hoehn has covered everything from plane crashes to murder trials to the Super Bowl and the Hong Kong 7s rugby tournament. As a source of family editorial pride, he's also the guy who broke the Jeffrey Dahmer story for the National Enquirer. His latest recording project, "Silhouette of a Fool," includes 10 original songs brought to life under the production guidance of Milwaukee's John Sieger, founder of Semi-Twang and cofounder of the iconic R&B Cadets (with Paul Cebar). Hoehn has opened for a veritable who's who of American songwriters, including Rodney Crowell, Jerry Jeff Walker, Don McLean, Robert Earl Keen, Junior Brown, Todd Snider, Jack Ingram, Warren Zevon, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Kinky Friedman, David Wilcox, Charlie Robison and James McMurtry. The CCPHC would like to thank you for helping us help others. Who are we? The CCPHC is a community minded social club with a love for the tropical lifestyle inspired by Jimmy Buffett. We meet in various locations around the county for fun activities. We also meet frequently with our neighboring clubs. We do fundraisers and service projects for many local groups. The Clinton County Parrot Head Club was founded in October of 2007. As of 1/1/13, we have raised over $26,600 and contributed over 3500 hours for various charities. Local and national charities include: Community Link, Matthew 25 Food Bank, Alzheimer’s Foundation, Relay for Life, Highway Clean Up, Backstoppers, Operation Carlyle Homefront, Clinton County Humane Society and many more. We are part of an international organization called Parrot Heads in Paradise (PHiP). What began with the Atlanta Parrot Head Club 20 years ago has grown exponentially. We ended 2011 with 239 chapters in the United States, Canada and Australia – including 47 states and 4 Canadian provinces. Our total membership showed an increase of 3.1% with almost 28,000 new, dedicated, fun-loving Parrot Heads. Despite difficult economic times, all Clubs collectively raised and/or donated more than $4.1 million to charitable organizations, an increase of 40% over the previous year. Equally significant, all chapters worldwide donated an estimated 194,000 man-hours to philanthropic and environmental activities. In the period 2002 – 2011, Parrot Head Clubs have collectively contributed more than $26.2 million and approximately 2.79 million man-hours to aid our communities, our environment and our fellow man! Overall, the purpose of a Parrot Head Club is to “Party with a Purpose” “…engage in activities that are charitable, educational and that promote the general welfare of the community. We are a not-for-profit corporation whose purpose is to assist in community and environmental concerns and provide a variety of social activities for people who are interested in the music of Jimmy Buffett and the tropical lifestyle he personifies.” Please check out the membership table if you are interested in joining us!!! www.ccparrotheads.com Hotel Rooms, Cabins & Banquet facilities 1 Resort Drive Carlyle, IL 62231 (618) 594-7666 Southern Bus & Mobility is a distributor for small - midsize school and activity buses, MFSAB’s (Multi-Function School Activity Buses), commercial shuttle buses and vans, wheelchair vans, wheelchair lifts and mobility equipment.
