White polka dots 15. Purple plaid (binding) 16. Backing 17. White polka dot fabric: Cut 6 strips 2½" x WOF Cut these strips into 84 - 2½" squares 2. From each of fabrics #1 - #6 Cut three strips 2½" x WOF Cut these strips into: Ten 2½" x 6½" rectangles Eight 2½" x 3½" rectangles Four 2½" squares 4. From fabric #4 (POP-E #1 lime) Cut four 3½" sqaures (corner stones) 5. From fabric #8 (POP-E #2 Pink) Cut four 1½" x 3½" rectangles Cut two strips 1½ x 50½" Cut two strips 1½" x 44½" 6. From fabric #13 (White tone on tone) Cut two strips 1½" x 42½" Cut two strips 1½" x 38½" 7. From fabric #15 (purple plaid) Cut five strips 2½" x WOF (binding) Sewing USE AN EXACT ¼" SEAM ALLOWANCE 1. Make 42 blocks as shown in Diagram 1. Sew two polka dot squares to one 2½" square. Press towards the center block. Then choose two identical 2½" x 6½" strips and sew to each side of the 2½" square unit. Press towards the strips. Repeat to make 42 blocks. Diagram 1 © Camelot Cottons 2007 2 2. Sew blocks together in rows of six. See Diagram 2. Make seven rows in total. See Diagram 4 on page three for placement of blocks. Alternate the direction you press the seams for each row. Diagram 2 Sew one strip to the top of the quilt and one to the bottom. 8. Sew one of the 1½ x 50½" pink outer border strips to each side of the quilt. Press. 9. Sew one 1½" x 44½" to the top and one to the bottom of the quilt. FINISHING YOUR QUILT: Please refer to Diagram 4. 3. Sew one white inner border strip to each side of the quilt. Press all seams towards the borders. 4. Sew one white inner border strip to the top of the quilt and one to the bottom of the quilt. Press. 5. Sew 21 of the 2½" x 3½" strips together in a row. See Diagram 3. Repeat. Diagram 3 2½" 3½" 6. Sew one pink 1½" x 3½" strip to each end of these two rows. Press seams in one direction. Sew one strip to each side of the quilt. 7. Sew 18 of the 2½" x 3½" strips together in a row. Repeat. Sew one pink 1½" x 3½" strip to each end of these two rows. Sew one 3½" green square to each end of these two rows. Press seams in one direction. 1. Cut backing and batting at least three inches larger than the quilt on all sides. 2. Using a hard surface, secure the backing (right side down) with masking tape or clamps. 3. Lay your batting and quilt top (right side up) on backing, smoothing away any wrinkles. 4. Baste layers together using safety pins or thread. 5. Quilt as desired. 6. Square and trim up your quilt around all sides. 7. Sew your binding fabric end to end using a mitred seam. Press seams open. Fold in half length-wise, wrong sides together and press. 8. Apply binding by aligning the raw edges of the quilt and the binding. Sew through all layers using a generous ¼" seam allowance. 9. Fold binding to the back of your quilt and hand stitch to finish. 10.
