VEX Robotics Projects
Add-on Capstone Projects
Our long-standing partnership with SkillsUSA
enables us to deliver effective projects right off
the competition floor. Fully tested for industry relevance and game-day viability, SkillsUSA projects
consist of e-learning curriculum and hardware for
competition preparation or classroom curriculum
enhancement
VEX Robotics Projects are designed to stimulate
student learning and engage participants to solve
a variety of STEM challenges in a team environment.
These projects feature classroom friendly resources designed for as add-ons for VEX robotics
systems. VEX robotics projects make an excellent
supplement to existing curriculum or extra-curricular robotics activities or clubs.
Capstone projects build on existing curriculum to
help students put to use the concepts learned to
solve real-world problems. Engaging scenarios
present open-ended challenges that enable
students to design their own solutions using the
technologies they choose.

Engineering Application Series
The Engineering Application Series Projects are
a collection of fun and exciting problem-based
learning opportunities. EAS provides students the
opportunity to master critical academic, workplace, and life skills. Student teams are presented
with a real world engineering design challenge.
The team then solves the problem by navigating
the design process.
SkillsUSA® Projects
Robotics and Automation Technology
Robotics and Automation Project is an engaging simulation of the industrial automated manufacturing process. Teams of two students
layout and program a robotic production system as a solution to the project scenario.
Choose from all-inclusive package with the SCORBOT-ER 4u robot, or add-packages with the necessary project hardware to use with your existing
robotics package. All packages require a 4’ x 4’ work surface on which to mount components.
Each project involves all aspects of Robotics, Pneumatics, Sensors, and Electrical Systems. Students are guided through the each step via
LearnMate® e-learning curriculum. Teams design a workcell layout, develop documentation including the hardware layout drawing, robotic
wiring connections and a flow chart of the proposed robotic program. Once the design is approved, they implement the program. Teams are
then presented with a change order and repeat the design and build process, incorporating the specified modifications.

Mobile Robotics
This competition addresses the industry need for individuals fluent in mechanical design, electrical systems and robot programming using VEX robotics
system for mobile robotic designs. SkillsUSA’s Mobile Robotics competition addresses these needs by presenting a challenging competitive
team-oriented project. The competition tests the ability to perform and exhibit skills and knowledge from competencies determined by the
SkillsUSA Mobile Robotic technical committee. The committee’s industry partners include Caterpillar, Honeywell and intelitek, and others.
This competition evaluates each contestant’s preparation for employment in robotics by emphasizing the team approach to problem
solving in a work environment.

VEX Robotics Projects
Robotics Competition Projects are designed to stimulate student learning and engage participants to solve a variety of science,
technology, engineering and math (STEM) problems. Projects are designed for VEX and include components to add to your existing VEX
kits, such as scoring goals and components, fasteners, rules, field construction plans, and scoring software. VEX Robotic projects make
excellent add-on supplements for Intelitek’s 2-year Robotics Engineering Curriculum!

Add-on Capstone Projects
Engineering Technology Projects
Car Elevator
In the Car elevator project, students build a fully
functional prototype of an elevator capable of
simultaneously transporting several automobiles
between two floors. The project enables students
to demonstrate their knowledge of electrical
control systems, hydraulics, and mechanisms
technologies.
Pneumatic Feeder
The objectives of the Pneumatic Feeder project
are to design a pneumatic feeder with reliability,
precision and speed. Students incorporate
pneumatics, robotics, sensors, and PLC
technologies to design a vending machine to
specifications.
Can Crusher
This capstone project employs concepts learned
in Hydraulics, Pneumatics, PLCs, and Robotics
curriculum. In a municipal recycling center
scenario, teams are challenged to design a
solution that automates the recycling process
while minimizing costs and maximizing safety.
CO2 Car
The CO2 Car project gets students involved in
all aspects of manufacturing from design to
fabrication. Students create CAD drawings,
generate NC programs using CAM, and
manufacture the car from balsa wood using a
CNC mill. Testing the fully assembled CO2 car
delivers the instructional value of competitions!
