Ages 6-12
Tuesdays 2:00 - 3:15pm
$35 Members/ $70 non-Members per 2 week session
Experience how much fun handbuilding with clay is We will be rolling slabs,
pinching pots, using stamps, rolling coils and learning about the techniques of
handbuilding with clay. Attend one session, two or all three. The first week is
to handbuild the piece and the second week is glazing. The project will need to
be fired and is ready for pick up the following week.
FACES OF PICASSO
June 16 and June 23
Be inspired by Pablo Picasso's cubism faces and handbuild with
clay a face using geometric forms. The face will be constructed
out of many shapes and cut into pieces. The fun part is when the
face is completed it is ready to hang outside! Hang it on a tree to
make it come to life or a fence post etc. Learn how to roll out a slab
of clay, roll coils, use tools and stamps.
SCULPT-A-SAURUS
July 14 and 21
Sculpting with clay is so much fun! We will be rolling, pinching,
squeezing and flattening clay. The kids are the designers and
create a critter, monster or saurus using their imaginations!
Will it be tall or short, round or long, One, three or five eyes?
Spikes or horns? It is all up to them!
BIRDY FEEDERS
August 11 and 18
Using the basic skills of handbuilding with clay, create a one
of a kind birdfeeder ready to hang outside.
Preschool Panic

Outdoor Classroom – Rain or Shine
$25 members/$50 Non-Members
This class is designed to entertain and inspire our younger friends, ages 3-5.
Preschool Panic is similar to our Preschool Palette class, but will take place in our “Outdoor
Classroom” and involves MUCH messier projects!!! So be sure to dress yourself and your
child(ren) appropriately…in old clothes and shoes. (All preschool students must be
accompanied by an adult.)

$3 per session (Prepay to reserve your spot)
Class size limited to 25 (Drop Ins are subject to availability)
We will observe, study and mimic four works of art from the Rahr-West’s collection including the following:

Mask Making Mayhem
August 4th, 11th, 18th & 25th
$25 members/ $50 non-members
On the first week, students will hand-build a paper mache’ mask
which will serve as the “canvas” for this project. Then, in the weeks
that follow, we will use an array of art materials and other fun findings
to decorate the masks we have created.
If time is allotted, we will create a second 3D project as well.
