The fundraiser this year will include
“Uncorked” – an elegant evening
and wine pairing dinner at Michae
on East on November 11th. The trad
l’s
itional Food & Wine Tasting, at
the
Sarasota Polo Club on Saturday,
November 14th, will again offer an afte
rnoon of samplings from a large sele
ction of the area’s finest restaurants
and a variety of beverages. Your invo
lvement as a sponsor supports both
eve
nts and in turn is recognized by our
community for the support you are
providing to the many needy organiz
ations it will benefit.
We plan to have nearly 2000 attende
es at this annual highly anticipated
event and hope that you will choose
to join with us in our service and
support of those in need in our com
mu
nity. The Suncoast Food & Wine
Fest is our club’s annual major fun
draiser, providing more than $1,210
,000 to local charities during our
13 year history. This event has bec
ome a Sarasota/Manatee community
trad
ition, allowing us and our
sponsors, restaurants, and wine dist
ributors to assist many charitable
organizations and to contribute to
Rotary International’s humanitaria
n initiatives. A list of some of the cha
rities we have been fortunate to assi
during the past 13 years is on the
st
back cover of this sponsorship pre
sentation.
On average our fundraiser has raised
more than $100,000 each year and
we receive over fifty grant application
with requests for financial assistan
s
ce. We typically are able to provide
fun
ding to more than twenty different
charitable organizations, each yea
r from the proceeds. The community
need is great and our resources are
limited; therefore, we are deliberate
and conscientious in selecting those
who receive funding. The community
has come to recognize our commit
ment to help, and we are determined
to continue to do so.
The Rotary Club of Lakewood Ran
ch is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organiz
ation, and our members are already
hard at work on this year’s event with
the goal of making this our most suc
cessful year ever.
