2016 Notre Dame Women’s Basketball Team Camp II
Thank you for registering for the 2016 University of Notre Dame Women’s Basketball Team Camp II! We hope summer camp will be a
memorable and exciting experience for you. The information in this packet is very important, so please read it thoroughly and share
it with your players. Please pay special attention to check-in information. If you can get your team to check-in, you are in good shape.
Kathryn Capps, Camp Director, will be there with all the information for the camp and will be able to direct you from there.
DATE:
June 24-26, 2016 (Friday—Sunday)
CHECK-IN:
Friday, June 24 — 11:00am-12:30pm EDT
-Location: Purcell Pavilion at the Joyce Center— Gate 10
-Address: 113 Joyce Center Notre Dame, IN 46556
*Please note that the University of Notre Dame is on Eastern Daylight Time!
HEAD COACHES MEETING:
-A mandatory meeting for Head Coaches will be held on Sunday, June 24 at 1:00pm in the Monogram Room (Second Floor) of Purcell
Pavilion at the Joyce Center. Game schedules will be distributed at this time.
CAMPERS MEETING:
Friday, June 24 at 1:45pm in the Purcell Pavilion Main Arena
DEPARTURE:
Sunday, June 26 — 2:00pm EDT (Depending on team’s last scheduled game)
-Parents/Guardians should meet the departing campers at their respective dorms via Dorr Road entrance

CANCELLATIONS:
If a camper cancels 8 days prior to the start of the camp, she will receive a refund less a $75.00 cancellation fee. NO refunds will be
issued for any reason within ONE WEEK of camp. Team deposits are non-refundable.
NON-BOARDERS:
-Non-boarders will check in with all other campers on the first day at Gate 10
DIRECTIONS TO CAMPUS:
-Notre Dame is located approximately 90 miles east of Chicago on the Indiana Toll Road (80/90)
-Proceed through exit 77 toll plaza and turn right onto US 933/ Business 31 at the traffic light
-Travel through three (3) traffic lights and turn left (East) on Angela Blvd.
-Follow Angela to Notre Dame Avenue and turn left (heading North)
-Take your first right onto Holy Cross Drive
-You may park in the Stadium lots– ushers will direct you to the appropriate check-in location

CHECKLIST OF ITEMS TO BRING:
Below is a suggested list of clothes, equipment, and personal items. DO NOT bring unnecessary clothes or expensive cameras, IPods,
IPads, cell phones, TV’s, or any other valuable items. Notre Dame is NOT responsible for any personal items brought to camp that may
be stolen or lost. Please label every article that you bring. All items will be the responsibility of the individual camper! No battery operated scooters or hover boards are allowed on campus.
BASKETBALL ITEMS:

-Bed linens (extra long twin sheets)

-Pillow/ blanket
-Basketball Shoes
-Sunscreen and Mosquito repellant

-Portable fan (Non-AC DORMS!!!!)

-Sandals/extra pair of walking shoes
-Towels
-Alarm clock
-Snack money
HOUSING:
-Campers will reside in undergraduate residence halls on the campus of Notre Dame. Dorms are single sex (male coaches will be in
separate dorms). Teams staying on campus must have an adult female supervisor that has passed our background check staying with
the team
-Roommate assignments—At registration, the camp office will give you a block of rooms to assign your players to. Rooms will be doubles or singles depending on the layout of each of the dorms.
-Keys will not be issued to campers for their dorm rooms due to safety concerns (For example, if a camper loses a key to their room
on campus and someone picks up the key, they can use that to gain entry to the dorms exterior doors). Each female supervisor will
receive a key to their room.
TEAMS STAYING IN HOTELS:
-Lunch and dinner are include with each camper and paid coaches’ registration. Non-boarding coaches and campers are responsible
for their own breakfast.
PARKING:
-FIRST OPTION—C1 and C2 lots located south of the Joyce Center. On the attached map this are is labeled “Special Events Parking”.
The best way to access this parking is off of Angela/Edison Road.
-SECOND OPTION—D6 parking lot off of Dorr Road. (This might be closest to the dorm your team is staying in).
-THIRD OPTION—D2 parking lot off of Leahy Dr. (This might be closest to the dorm you are staying in).
CAMP DEPOSITS:
-Coaches will receive their $100 deposits back at the conclusion of the last scheduled game on Day 3 of camp. If a team leaves early,
Notre Dame will cash the deposit check and that money is forfeited.

HEALTH & SAFETY:
-University athletic trainers will be on duty each day during hours of scheduled camp activity.
-University Health Services facilities, EMT’s, or the local hospital will be available 24-7.
-Most meals are prepared under the direction of the University dietician and served in the University’s North Dining Hall.
-Drugs, alcoholic beverages and tobacco products are strictly forbidden and constitute, along with general misconduct, grounds for
dismissal from camp without a refund.
-Any damage to the residence halls will be billed to the parents of the campers responsible for such incident or to the parents of the
campers assigned to the specific room where damage occurred.
-Campers taking prescription medicine must be responsible for their own medication. If your child cannot self-medicate, a parent or
legal guardian must be available to administer during camp. If you decide that your child can self-medicate, please make arrangements to remind your child to take his or her medication. Camp counselors and athletic trainers are not allowed to hold or dispense
prescription medication, and will not be responsible for reminding your child to take their medication. Additionally, the health center
and EMT’s will not hold or dispense medication.
TRAINING ROOM:
-The Athletic Training room will be open to campers during each game session. If a camper gets taped regularly each game, we ask
that she brings her own tape for the athletic trainer.
BASKETBALL FACILITIES:
-The Joyce Center has been renamed the Purcell Pavilion at the Joyce Center. If you see references for the Purcell Pavilion or the
Joyce Center, it is the same location.
-GAMES WILL BE PLAYED IN THE PURCELL PAVILION, PURCELL PAVILION PRACTICE FACILITY, ROLFS RECREATION CENTER AND JOYCE
CENTER FIELD HOUSE. ALL FACILITIES ARE WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE.
GAMES BEGIN:
Friday, June 24 at 2:30pm at the various court locations. Coaches are responsible for communicating with campers and camper’s families about game times/locations.
JERSEYS:
-Jerseys or t-shirts with numbers are required for games to alleviate confusion by the referees. Reversible jerseys are preferred. If you
do not have jerseys or t-shirts with numbers, please tape numbers on the backs of the jersey or t-shirts prior to camp. No laundry
services are available.
BRINGING BASKETBALLS TO CAMP:
-We recommend that each team bring their own basketballs to camp for warm-ups. Notre Dame is not responsible for lost or stolen
balls.
FIRST MEAL/ LAST MEAL:
Please note that the first meal will be dinner & the last meal will be lunch!
*Please note, Non-boarding teams are responsible for their own breakfast. Lunch and dinner are provided for Non-boarding teams.
SPENDING MONEY:
-Spending money brought to camp will be the responsibility of the individual camper
