ADOPTION UPDATES
TIPPY
TIM
Tippy and Tim
Thank you to everyone who has
adopted an animals and given
them a new and better Ufe.
When you adopt you actually
save 2 lives, the life of the animal
you adopt which then opens up a
space for another animal to be
brought in for adoption.
If you have adopted an animal
from HS CAR we would love an
update with a picture on how
they are doing in their new home.
They were adopted together and are doing
great., obviously being spoiled.
We are so glad she is a member
of our family. Thank you for allowing us to provide her with a
loving home.

Experience Wells
Everything that your dog experiences in Ufe is two separate wells.
A positive experience and a negative experience. I f you find there is
something that your dog just cannot handle it may be because they have
more negative experiences then positive. To change your dog's opinion of
this situation or item you need to give them a lot of positive experiences in a
short amount of time. For example, if you put the leash on your dog and it
completely freaks out or totally shuts down this is a situation where you need
to give the leash a positive experience. To do this put your dog in a confined
area and then slowly approach with leash, put the leash on them and give a
special treat. Then remove the leash and slowly reattach it again giving them
a special treat. Do this several times within a few minutes then give them a
break. Simply put the leash down and play with them for a few minutes.
Then do another leash on and off session. After a few sessions walk around
the room with them on the leash, if they put tension in the leash gently pull
towards you and release tension, say no when you pull and giving them praise
when there is slack. It may take a few days of doing this but you will get to
the point where the leash is no longer a problem. You can apply this type of
technique to anything your dog has a negative experience well for. The
objective is to tip the scales towards to the positive well in a short time.
