Animal
Rescue
Bee Malinoski passed away on Monday, February 11th at her
residence.
Bee has always been an animal lover and first volunteered for an
animal rescue in Sannibel Island, Florida. In 1994, she and three
other women started an animal rescue in Concord, N C . After
retiring it became apparent to Bee that retiring from animal rescue
was just not an option and in 2011, again with three others, started
the HS Cabarrus Animal Rescue in Concord, NC.
Our thoughts and prayers are with her
husband Mai and her brother Bill.
Concord, NC
We are all devastated and Bee will be
greatly missed.

Heartworm, fleas and ticks:
Prevent the spring blues for your dog. As with all medical issues, it is better to prevent
problems than to have to treat them later. Check with your veterinarian for preventative
recommendations against heartworm and fleas and ticks to keep your dog in good health.
Heartworm disease is a serious and potentially fatal parasitic disease transmitted by
mosquitoes. There are a variety of options for preventing heartworm infection in dogs:
talk to your veterinarian about the right one for your dog. The American Heartworm
Society guidelines recommend that all dogs be tested annually for heartworm infection.
Fleas and ticks can cause a host of problems, from flea allergy dermatitis (FAD) to Lyme
disease and Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever. In large enough numbers, both ticks and
fleas can cause dangerous amounts of blood loss, especially in young dogs. The most
common flea and tick prevention options - monthly spot-on topicals. Oral tablets are
popular primarily due to their convenience and effectiveness.

ADOPTION UPDATES
d his new best friend
Squeak is doing wonderful!
Everyday when we get home he
goes straight to my son who
squats down and gives him love.
They play all the time!! Bodie
can't wait to feed him everyday,
and I look forward to him laying
in bed with me at night. In a
nutshell, we love him very
much, and he surely seems to
love us!:) "
Thank you to everyone who has
adopted an animals and given
them a new and better life.
When you adopt you actually
save 2 lives, the life of the animal
you adopt which then opens up a
space for another animal to be
brought in for adoption.
If you have adopted an animal
from HS CAR we would love an
update with a picture on how
they are doing in their new home.
We love those happy endings.
We feel very fortunate to have found 'Hershey'
after losing our 13 year old min-pin/ Chihuahua, Rosie last month. Hershey is perfect for
our family, and has become quite perky and
playful after getting used to our household
that includes a 13 year old dog, Kendall and 4
outdoor cats (one of which joins us in the
evening to cuddle on the couch with Hershey
and Kendall). Our thanks goes to you who
rescued Hershey and Debbie, the foster parent
who cared for him so lovingly for 9 months!

Needs a "forever" home
Nascar is a Dachshund mix
about 2 years old.
He is a bit shy until he gets
to know you but then bonds
very quickly. He needs to be
the only dog in the household because he does get a
litde jealous.
He can not go in a home that
has small children because
of this.
Nascar needs a home with
someone who will have
patience and work with him.
Please e-mail us if you are
interested in Nascar.
VOLUNTEERS N E E D E D

leash or just playing and cuddling with the animals. If you have a passion for animals please consider volunteering, just think how a few hours a week of your time can
change an animals life forever.
