Who are we for?

Children at PALS must primarily have a
the opportunity to develop socially, but also for
you to have a well earned break with other
members of your family.
We are not a respite
service, but we are here for your child to make
friends and have fun!
Transport & Costs
Parents are expected to provide transport to
activities for their child/children, but for some
events we do include transport to the activity
from a set meeting point, particularly when
we’re going somewhere out of the area.
Activity costs are met by the parents, but
these are kept to a minimum and are often
subsidised, especially the residential trips.

children may also have an associated
learning difficulty, but this may not
affect their eligibility.
They must be aged 5 and over, and
want to come to activities themselves.
All places are subject to a home visit
and assessment by the Coordinator to
consider the child or young person’s
suitability for the group.

When the children reach 12 years old,
they can join our PALS Youth Club (PYC)
group, which is aimed at increasing their
independence and social opportunities.
The club meets fortnightly on a Friday
night, and the children have the chance to
relax and meet up with friends, play a
game of pool or have a go on our Wii.
This group also has the opportunity to
take part in residential trips, such as
