Kreplach - Printable Kosher Recipes
Vichna Belsky
1 package frozen ravioli dough, defrosted
1 egg
dash of pepper
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp onion powder
2 TB matza meal or bread crumbs
1/4 cup water
1 lb chopped meat
designed by
1. In a large pot, boil enough water to cover all the kreplach. Add some salt.
2. Lay out the circles or squares of ravioli dough.
3. Thoroughly mix the rest of the ingredients. I find it easiest to mix the first 6
ingredients, then add the meat and mix well.
4. Drop 1 TB of meat mixture in the center of each dough. Fold dough in half over
the meat to form a triangle. Press edges to seal closed. Drop into boiling water
5. Boil around 20 minutes after last one is put into the pot.
TIP: If you want to freeze these, lay them out in a single layer on a pan, and only put
them in a bag or container after they are frozen solid. Otherwise they will stick
together and become a mess when defrosted.
SERVING SUGGESTION: Saute onions in a pan until lightly golden, then lay some
kreplach on top and fry for a few more minutes to allow flavors to steep.
