in 1927, Harold E. Trent had the
right idea when he said...“If we are
innovative and build equipment our
customers can rely on day in and day
out, year after year, at a fair price,
our reputation for manufacturing
quality products and providing quality
services will grow and endure.”
Today, after more than 70 years of providing industrial heating
solutions, our customers keep coming back. TRENT is a leading
designer and manufacturer of electrically heated equipment for
diverse industrial and commercial applications. Among the
products in our line are electrical heating elements, ovens,
furnaces, kettles, and jackets.
Testimonials to the quality and
durability of our equipment come to
us often. Our most recent kudos are
from an electronics manufacturer
currently expanding production
capacity. They needed a bell type
furnace to supplement a TRENT
furnace they currently own. In their
request for quote they stated, “Our
existing TRENT bell furnace has
been in continuous trouble-free
service for more than 40 years.”
Our pride pushes us to accomplish
more than our customers expect
and compels us to do our best at
all times. That’s the TRENT
Tradition … innovative, costeffective, durable solutions for
your industrial heating needs.
Service, innovation, and
craftsmanship are hallmarks of
TRENT, not just buzz words.

Nuclear Fuel Servicing
Norman Brumm, owner of
Norman Brumm Showroom in
Charlevoix, Michigan, uses a
kiln retrofitted with TRENT
Folded and Formed® (F&F®)
heating elements to cure his
enameled Nature Inspired Art.
When asked to evaluate the
performance of the F&F®
elements, he commented, “The
wire coiled elements in my kiln
were burning out frequently.
TRENT convinced me to
retrofit my equipment with their
F&F® heating elements, and
they’ve been going strong now
for four years without a hitch.”
Service
Innovation
At TRENT, service starts long before production
begins and extends long after delivery. We believe
thorough planning and precise communication
before and during production are as essential as
final inspection and follow-up after delivery.
Our craftsmen and engineering staff work hard to
provide cost-effective solutions. We fabricate
many parts, because the quality of ready-mades
just isn’t there. For example, our Trentknit™
gasket made from stainless steel mesh and high
density braided ceramic fiber rope provides better
thermal efficiency and a maximum operating
temperature of 2000°F. Trentknit™ is more
resilient and withstands higher temperatures than
fiberglass type gaskets.
Computer-Aided Design
We offer numerous catalog selections;
however, chances are your oven or
furnace will be custom-made. Our
computer-aided engineering
department employs the latest
technology in adapting our proven
designs to meet your specific needs.
Timely Delivery
Your order gets the quickest possible
attention. In many cases, we can design, develop
and build your custom equipment in the same time
it takes others to deliver their standard offerings.
Our experience equates to reasonable prices and
cost savings for you.
Permanent files are kept of all drawings and
specifications. If at any time you need
replacement parts, we can quickly manufacture
them to minimize your production down time.
Folded and Formed®
Heating Elements
TRENT Folded and Formed®
heating elements are developed
to meet the need for higher
temperatures and improved
temperature control demanded in today’s heat
processing operations. First patented in 1933, the
F&F® element is exposed ribbon with a greater
cross sectional mass than conventional coiled wire
elements. Our unique forming operation gives the
self-supporting element a structural rigidity that
prevents sag when operated at temperatures to
2500°F. With lower mass than a metal sheathed
heater or coiled element, it responds faster to
heating and cooling. Its greater surface area (low
watt density) provides heat at a faster rate,
resulting in a lower operating temperature which
prolongs element life.
Craftsmanship
Experienced Personnel
Every TRENT product, whether a standard
catalog offering or custom design, is built with
the kind of craftsmanship which comes only
from years of experience. Service length
averages 15 years for our skilled personnel, and
the work quality reflects their expertise. With a
good mix of experience and youth, we perpetuate
this expertise through active training programs
using our experienced craftsmen.
Quality Control
Our quality control procedures are among the
most extensive in the industry. Thorough testing
and inspection before a TRENT product leaves
our plant, guarantees superior performance.

Folded and
Formed® Racks
TRENT standard F&F® heater racks with
exclusive Folded and Formed® nickel-chrome
heating elements radiate optimum heat at low
watt density. Within an aluminized or alloy steel
frame, supported by high-grade ceramics,
these ribbon elements provide heat more
readily and over a wider area than other
elements. This means more heat, faster,
with less energy expended. They also
allow faster cooling to prolong the
element life. These benefits, coupled with
ease of installation, make TRENT F&F®
heating racks as economical as they are
efficient. For detailed information, please
request our Heating Units Brochure.

Other Electric Heating
Elements
Oil Immersion and
Fintube Heaters
Our oil immersion and fintube heaters are
designed for oil preheating, oil baths, and heating
other heat transfer fluids. Oil immersion heaters
(TRO, TSO, and TSOL series) use a tubular
heater design. Fintube heaters (FO series) have an
aluminum flange welded to a longitudinal finned
tubing. The fins increase the surface area,
lowering the watts per square inch, and enabling a
higher kW to be used in a shorter length.
Explosion proof heads can be supplied for all
models. For more information, request our
Electric Heating Elements Brochure.

TRENT manufactures a wide range of strip,
tubular, cartridge, and ceramic ring heaters and
hot plates for a variety of heating needs. Strip
heaters encased in seamless tubing are sealed to
ensure moisture resistance. Copper, steel, or alloy
tubular heaters are available in straight or bent
lengths. Where spot heating is required, sheathed
and sheathless cartridge heaters provide utility
heating directly to the object or material.
Electric Jackets
Does your application involve heating liquids or
gases in such process vehicles as kettles, retorts,
reactors or piping? A TRENT electric jacket
ensures dependable heat at temperatures not
possible with steam or liquid heating methods.
Only TRENT high temperature jackets feature the
exclusive Folded and Formed® ribbon heating
elements. This difference enables TRENT jackets
to operate at lower watt densities than
conventional systems, reducing the incidence of
heater burnout while increasing efficiency,
temperature control and uniformity.
