The Challenge
For over 40 years, Captain D’s Seafood
Restaurant has been dedicated to
serving freshly prepared seafood,
at reasonable prices, in a warm and
inviting atmosphere.
With over 500 locations, Captain D’s
was looking to simplify their bulky,
complicated menu boards for a system
that would make chain-wide updates
easy. They also wanted to bring
their new color palette and coastal
ambiance to life at the drive-thru.
Customer Solution
VGS produced multiple solutions to
meet the needs of Captain D’s.
For the interior of the restaurant, most
locations received a Non-Illuminated
7-Panel Angled Menu Board
System, featuring lift-up MagaLens®
technology. This technology allows
for easy change of inserts via the
lift-up lens. Locations also received
sets of LED Flat Panels, perfect for
illuminating promos, seasonal specials
and LTO’s.
To bring their brand refresh to life
outside the restaurant, VGS developed
a cohesive Drive-Thru “Experience”
System, including a preview board,
main menu board, and overhead
canopy with color-coordinated
clearance bar. The main menu board
cabinet features 6 separate panels,
easily changeable for updates.
A snapframe on the backdrop panel
provides easily changeable marketing
real estate, while a special channel
on the side allows for additional
promotional signage.
