2015 ABMTS
A
IM-IRS 2015 Annual Business Meeting and Training Seminar (ABMTS)
was hosted by the St. Louis Chapter, Midwest Region and was a great success. The Conference Theme was “AIMing for a Brighter Future.” And, each
part of the conference gave us a glimpse of the brighter future ahead. Two
Houston Chapter Members Wendy Mooring (SWR VP) and Jennifer Williams
(MWR VP) Co-Chaired the event. Several of our members either chaired or
worked on various committees: Arlene Good, Gloria Gibson White, Monica
Hayes, Donna Smith, Maudrie Leger, Jamie Martin and Darlene
Otubusin. Those in attendance were informed, inspired and enlightened. Jennifer was recognized with the Bobby Wyche Award for service
above and beyond the call of duty at the local, regional and national level.
Attendees participated in the Annual Business Meeting, Networking events,
Opening Session, Leadership Forum, Workshops, Gala and Interfaith Services. Members returned ready to share the good news and make a difference within the Chapter. Gloria and Maudrie represented the Houston Chapter as delegates. Katheryn Houston was a speaker for the Leadership Forum
and Workshops.
Mark your calendar - The 2016 Business Meeting will be in New Orleans and

Thanks to Joycelyn Williams, our immediate Past National President, for sharing this useful information about federal benefits and designating beneficiaries. It is not sufficient to
just name someone in a last will and testament under the federal process. There must be
an appropriate FORM on file. Also, it is important to review and/or change your designated beneficiaries when there are significant life event changes.
— Nesbit K. Parker, National President, AIM-IRS
DESIGNATING BENEFICIARIES
If you have recently completed and submitted new Beneficiary forms, please allow 90 days for processing and certification. If it has been more than 90 days
from the date you mailed your forms and you still have not received a certified
copy for your records, please let us know when and where you mailed your forms
so we can research and get back with you immediately.
If you have not completed and submitted new Beneficiary forms within the past
year, please see the following Beneficiary information to submit new forms.
Information on designating beneficiaries can be found in the Employee Personnel
Resource Guide, pages 87 through 92.
You may designate your unpaid compensation, Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) account, Federal Employees’ Group Life Insurance (FEGLI), and Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS) or Federal Employees’ Retirement System (FERS) accounts.
Information regarding the use of each of these forms may be located in the Employee Personnel Resource Guide pages 87-92 Chapter
"Designating Beneficiaries" http://erc.web.irs.gov/DOCS/2002/AWSS/PS/
eprg0200/eprg_frame/index.htm
Be careful when completing the forms as forms with cross-outs or corrections of
any kind are not acceptable. Faxed copies will not be accepted, only original
forms with original signatures will be accepted.
The Data Integrity and Personnel Records Section, located at the address below
will complete the agency portion of the appropriate form and return a signed copy
to you.
Please keep a copy of any of the forms you submit, for your records, until you receive your certified copy.
Additional information concerning federal order of precedence, reviewing prior
designations, and common errors in making designations may be found in the
Employee Personnel Resource Guide.

as well as a brief slideshow with information and photos from the event. The two
files are located in EDI’s Leaders Toolkit SharePoint in the folder Commissioner
