Smallwood has written a detailed history of ML407 from it’s first commission in April 1944 through the War to ML407’s modern history.

These films were broadcast in 1986, 1990 and 1994 respectively.
‘Perfect Lady’ traces the history of ML407 from delivery in April 1944
by Jackie Moggridge of the ATA to the front line RAF 485 New Zealand
Squadron and on through ML407’s significant wartime history to Nick
Grace’s remarkable restoration to flying condition and meeting with
original wartime pilots and crew of ML407. Made in 1985.
‘Going Solo’ is a film depicting Carolyn’s sudden loss of her husband
and Olivia and Richard’s father, Nick in a car accident and shows her
path of learning to fly their beloved Spitfire ML407 as Nick had wanted.
‘Absolute Heaven’ tells the story of this incredible lady who delivered
not only ML407 but most other fighters, bombers and seaplanes during
the War. 50 years on from her first flight in ML407 Jackie returns to fly
again with Carolyn and shares her delight of flying ML407 and tells her
extraordinary wartime experiences.
The films have outstanding air to air, ground to air and in cockpit footage
along with significant archive footage.

THE GRACE SPITFIRE COAT :-
This coat is a resounding success! They are light, yet warm, being
wind and water proof. They are fully lined with a concealed hood
in the collar, with storm flap front zip, storm cuffs with velcro
tabs for size adjustment and shock cords at lower hem to stop the
pesky wind. Various zipped pockets - including a map pocket at
the back. The Grace Spitfire Logo is on top left hand panel.

Grace Spitfire Rudder Fabric Swatches
Your chance to own a piece of ML407!
We replaced the rudder fabric on the Grace Spitfire in the
2011/2012 winter maintenance schedule and we are selling
4” square (approximately) swatches with an authentication
certificate. The fabric has done over 500 flying hours and is
only the second fabric covering since Nick rebuilt ML407,
this fabric has been on ML407 since 1994. This is a limited
item so be sure to get your piece of ML407 history. Each
Certificate and swatch is numbered and signed by Carolyn Grace
(on the back).
