For security and safety reasons, all attendees are required to wear their name badges to all IKECA related events. 3 ABOUT THE SESSIONS Wednesday ANSI Consensus Body Meeting October 9, 2013, 7:30 am – 12:00 pm IKECA’s American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Consensus Body convenes at each face to face meeting to continue their work on the development of IKECA’s industry standards. The focus of the Consensus Body, in addition to reviewing the summary and recommendations from the first audit conducting by ANSI, will be on the first draft of the Inspection Standard. These meetings are open to observers however not eligible for CEUs. Associate Member/Sponsor/Exhibitor Luncheon with Board October 9, 2013, 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm Associate Members, sponsors and exhibitors are invited to attend lunch with the board of directors. Thursday 101: OSHA 10 Hour Training & Certification* Part I Eric Scolari, ASCS, CECS, RHP Mechanical Systems; dba Ray Heating Products, Inc. October 10, 2013, 7:00 am – 1:30 pm OSHA 10 hour course covers OSHA policies, procedures, and regulations, as well as safety and health principles. Topics include scope and application of the OSHA standards. Special emphasis is placed on those areas that are the most hazardous in the hood and grease duct cleaning business, using OSHA standards as a guide. Attendees will learn: • How to apply OSHA regulations into their everyday business • Identification and control of hazards • Where to begin? And, what if OSHA shows up at my project or business? New This Year! IKECA’s Conference Committee is pleased to offer the OSHA 10 Hour Training throughout the course of the Seminar. This will allow attendees to attend various sections of the training that they wish to get a refresher on. This is also a great opportunity to hear from new IKECA Members and learn more about board nominees. 201 & 301: Globally Harmonized Systems Babak Emami, Consultation Supervisor, Arizona Department of Occupational Safety & Health (ADOSH) October 10, 2013, 8:30 am – 10:00 am This informative session will review the changes in the OSHA Hazard Communication Standard based on the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) and help prepare employers and employees to deliver training to workers. The GHS training is mandated to be accomplished by December 1, 2013 and all employees must understand the changes in labeling, MSDS vs. SDS, and key phrases, pictograms and hazard descriptions included in the GHS. All participants will receive a free CD full of training resources including a PowerPoint program, numerous handouts and the OSHA Standard sideby-side version with all changes to the Hazard Communication Standard. 201 & 301: Creating a Powerful Safety Culture Jenny Mandeville, Training Officer, Arizona Department of Occupational Safety & Health (ADOSH) October 10, 2013, 10:30 am – 12:00 pm This people-based safety session focuses on the foundation of all safety cultures: shared values and principles.
