2013 Fall Technical Seminar & Expo
Welcome Address and General Business Session with Breakfast
October 10, 2013, 7:00 am – 8:30 am
Please join us for the Opening General Session
to hear about the current state of IKECA from
President, Jack Grace, CECS, CESI. This
is also a great opportunity to hear from new

201 & 301: Globally Harmonized Systems
Babak Emami, Consultation Supervisor, Arizona
Department of Occupational Safety & Health (ADOSH)
October 10, 2013, 8:30 am – 10:00 am
This informative session will review the changes
in the OSHA Hazard Communication Standard
based on the Globally Harmonized System (GHS)
and help prepare employers and employees to
deliver training to workers. The GHS training is
mandated to be accomplished by December 1,
2013 and all employees must understand the
changes in labeling, MSDS vs. SDS, and key
phrases, pictograms and hazard descriptions
included in the GHS. All participants will receive
a free CD full of training resources including a
PowerPoint program, numerous handouts and the OSHA Standard sideby-side version with all changes to the Hazard Communication Standard.
201 & 301: Creating a Powerful Safety Culture
Jenny Mandeville, Training Officer, Arizona Department of Occupational
Safety & Health (ADOSH)
October 10, 2013, 10:30 am – 12:00 pm
This people-based safety session focuses on the
foundation of all safety cultures: shared values
and principles. Approaching safety as a valuable
product worth buying, we can learn lessons from
top business gurus and deliver safety programs
that empower employees to take responsibility
for their actions, rewards that are meaningful,
and training that is insightful. We will explore the
difference between power and force as a dynamic
for change. You will come away with shifted
paradigms about safety; with an understanding of the limited influence
of forcing employees to comply compared to the sustainable dynamic of
employee empowerment. This is a class that changes the way you think
about safety.

Derek Breedlove, Regional Account Manager, Fleetmatics

payouts for accidents and violations. GPS fleet
tracking solutions can help identify and address
accident-prone behaviors and activities.
