Hillcrest Readers
“Rock It” at Competition
Congratulations to the Hillcrest Rockin’
Readers for shining at the recent Sno-Isle
Libraries Mega-Fun, Biblio-Trivia, RockemSockem, Third Grade Reading Challenge!
These amazing readers made our school proud
with their recall of information from six different
books as well as their outstanding team spirit
and sportsmanship. A special thanks goes out
to all the third grade teachers and parent
coaches who worked so hard with our Hillcrest
readers.
The results from our recent Groovy Book
Fair All for Books fundraiser are in. Hillcrest
students, families and teachers donated
$1000.00 for new books to be donated to our
library. As part of this fundraiser, book fair
customers placed their spare change from
purchases into the classroom jars of their
choice. Once the coins were counted it was
announced that Hillcrest 3rd and 5th grade
teachers (along with Principal Seaman,office
staff, and Assistant Superintendent King) will
be running the color powder gauntlet the
afternoon of April 22nd. Students will gather
on the playground to greet their teachers with
immeasurable enthusiasm and 22 pounds of
brightly colored powder!

2016-17 Class Placement Form
During the last month of school we begin
the process of forming class groups for the
coming school year. Information from
classroom and support teachers about each
student’s progress, skill levels, special
needs, social and emotional characteristics,
and learning styles is considered in
determining appropriate placement.
In addition, the Class Placement Form
gives you as parent/guardian an opportunity
to express your thoughts and to contribute
to the process of class placement. Please
know that no teacher names will be
accepted. Instead let us know what type of
classroom environment would best suit your
child’s needs.
Parents/guardians may pick up the Class
Placement Form beginning April 18th and
through May 6th.
