The project is in Köprübaşı district, on the middle part of Manahoz River. Province of Trabzon
is in the north of Turkey, The unit discharge rate is 18.64 m3/sec
2- AKSU HEPP (DÜZCE/TURKEY)
CONTRACTOR: BEREKET ENERGY CORP.
POWER: 46.2 MW
FORTAFERRO (54mm) have been prefered instead of steel mesh or steel fiber by
BEREKET ENERGY Corporation in the projects constructed on AKSU river. The main
reason for BEREKET ENERGY to chose FORTAFERRO were well and homogeneous
mixture and ease of pumping and shoting of FORTAFERRO. Also significant decrease
in rebound was observed during the construction.
3- CAYKARA HEPP – (TRABZON/TURKEY)
POWER: 34 MW
CONVEYANCE TUNNEL: 5,440 m (5978 yds.)
Trabzon is in the northern coast of Turkey and due to the climate conditions wet soil and
underground water threatens underground structures. One of the major benefits of
FORTAFERRO in Caykara-Trabzon was to resist against underground water effects and make
an excellent support to the concrete structure.
4- GUNEYSU-ADACAMI HEPP – (RİZE/TURKEY)

5- ESPİYE-AKKÖY HEPP – (GİRESUN/TURKEY)

CONVEYANCE TUNNEL: 5,427 m (5964 yds.)
CONCRETE THİCKNESS: 30cm (12 in.)
WATER FLOW CAPACITY: 20 m3/sec
FORTAFERRO Synthetic fibers were used primarily to prevent shrinkage cracks. After a
couple of mounts from the construction date, no shrinkage cracks were observed.
