He has a wonderful wife of 21 years named Anne, and they have two beautiful girls, named Noelle (16 years) and Moriah (13 years). Joe is an avid sports fan, particularly of the Atlanta Braves, UNC Tarheels, and Carolina Panthers, and he loves to fish and hunt. More than anything, he loves to spend time with his three favorite ladies, going on special trips with them while making life-long memories. This study opens the door to the vast world of biblical teaching about the Holy Spirit, the Church, and the End of Time. After taking this study, you should not expect to come out with all the answers, but you should expect to be familiar with the wealth of truth in the Bible concerning the questions of life. In short, you will develop a practical approach to understanding and applying Christian beliefs to your life. Notes for this course will be provided free of charge. An optional book for this class can be purchased at: www.amazon.com, then search for Wayne Grudem, Bible Doctrine 7 JESUS, THE ONE & ONLY TUESDAYS 9:00AM | ROOM 108 CLASS BEGINS 9/13 ABOUT ULLA SWAIN Ulla and her husband Greg have been at Northside about one and a half years. They celebrated their 30th anniversary this spring. They have two adult boys, Daniel and Anthony, and a daughter-in-law Brandy. Ulla has been involved in a Bible study for the past 25 years and leading Beth Moore studies for several years. Her favorite hobby is reading. She grew up in Finland and moved to North Carolina when she married Greg. Together Greg and Ulla are diehard Wolfpack fans and enjoy going to the football games. Based primarily on the Book of Luke, this ladies’ study is a careful examination of the life of Christ. You will be introduced to to an intimate Savior as you get a close-up and personal portrait of the life of Jesus the Messiah. You’ll see Jesus come to a funeral and raise the dead, confront conniving religious leaders, teach on a hillside, and even walk on the waves. The Study Guide for this class can be purchased at: www.lifeway.com, then search for Beth Moore, Jesus the One and Only Study Book 8 JESUS CONTINUED TUESDAYS 6:30PM | ROOM 108 CLASS BEGINS 9/20 ABOUT JANNET KRAMER Jannet and her husband, Roger have been members at Northside for two years. She is involved in the prayer team and Northside Women, always enjoying the opportunity to mentor young women. Jannet has taught several Bible studies at Northside and loves getting people excited about studying the Word. She came to know the Lord 38 years ago while taking a Precept Bible study. Jannet is the mother of three grown children and “Nana” to four precious grandchildren, ages 5 to 11, including twin grandsons. She enjoys knitting, reading, traveling, and especially enjoys baking goodies to share with her class. Jesus promised his disciples that it was better if he returned to heaven because then the Holy Spirit could live inside them. Yet how many Christians consider their connection to the Holy Spirit so strong that they would call his presence in them better than Jesus beside them? This study explores questions such as: What does it mean to have a relationship with the Holy Spirit? How do the Bible and God’s Spirit work together? You will discover that when you see your mission as something to do for God, you get overwhelmed. When you see it as something to do with God, your work becomes exhilarating. The difference is in knowing that the Holy Spirit is ready to fight your battles, use your gifts, and offer to you the peace of his presence. The Study Guide for this class can be purchased at: www.lifeway.com, then search for J.D. Greear, Jesus Continued Bible Study Book 9 DIVORCECARE TUESDAYS 6:30PM | ROOM 106 CLASS BEGINS 9/13 ABOUT LORI SUMNER Lori fell in love with Jesus Christ on November 15, 1989, when she gave her heart and life to Him. Lori has two wonderful adult boys, 18 and 20 years old. Her ministry passions are teaching, mentoring, supporting victimes of separation and divorce, and our street population - including the HomeSite, prisoners, and the addicted. Lori cares about people from all walks of life. Most people will tell you that separation and divorce are the most painful and stressful experiences they’ve ever faced. It’s a confusing time when you feel isolated and have lots of questions about issues you’ve never faced before. DivorceCare meets weekly to help you face these challenges and move toward rebuilding your life. During the first 30–40 minutes of the meeting, the group watches a video on divorce and recovery subjects. After the video, participants spend time as a support group, discussing what was presented in the video and what is going on in their lives. It’s important you know that you don’t have to go through it alone. This class is $15. Payment is due the first day of class. 10 GRIEFSHARE WEDNESDAYS 6:30PM | ROOM 209 CLASS BEGINS 8/17 ABOUT ROB STRICKLAND Rob is the Pastoral Care Minister here at Northside and has been on staff here since 2007.
