We are grateful for her time, dedication and commitment to our priests, parish and office staff. Please keep Vera in your prayers. We wish her all the best! A 'thank you' reception will be held after the 11:00am Mass on November 22nd. Pray for those who suffer for whatever reason, physical or spiritual: that they may be granted the vision of the Kingdom that can help them to overcome their hardships and toil. Pray for the proud, those who consider themselves saved by their own merits and deeds: that they may discover that God’s action is performed through those who seem to be the last and least important according to the values of this world. Pray for those who live their faith and feel the despair of “not being up to the mark” of the vocation to which they were called: that they may accept their shortcomings with humility and put their trust in God’s grace. BAPTISMS: Nora Daly Azure Goodwin Universal: That we may be open to personal encounter and dialogue with all, even those whose convictions differ from our own. Evangelization: That pastors of the Church, with profound love for their flocks, may accompany them and enliven their hope. YOUTH DONATIONS: Our youth ministry program is looking for donations of sports equipment, costumes (dress-up clothes), and props that can be used for skits. Please call Nicole at the office if you have items you would like to donate. Thank you. Saint of the Month EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY: Are you an energetic and social person who lives out their Catholic faith by sharing and practicing it with others? Do you have great people skills with managerial, organizational, bookkeeping and event planning experience? Holy Family is currently accepting resumes for those who fit this description for the full time position of Office Administrator. This wonderful opportunity is available immediately. Interested applicants may submit their resume online to: [email protected], or in person to the parish office. Due to the time sensitivity of this request, the closing date for submissions is: November 15th. CWL CHRISTMAS CRAFT & BAKE SALE: POPE’S PRAYER INTENTIONS: MERCY MINUTE: Do not grow weary of praying for sinners. You know what a burden they are to My heart. Relieve My deathly sorrow; dispense My mercy. (Our Lord’s words to St. Faustina). Diary 975 SUNDAY REFLECTION: Today’s celebration should fill us with the joy of knowing that a number of Christians have already attained the goal of their life: sharing in Jesus the fulfilment of His promises of blessing. And at the same time, it must also be a reminder of the distance existing between the values of the Kingdom proclaimed by Jesus and those of the world in which we live. To what extent do we believe that our happiness depends on the standards of this world? To what extent do we still think, just as the old Israelite community did, that the signs of God’s blessing are riches, comfort, health, success? Are we able to find God’s and Jesus’ presence in the bitter moments of life? I repeat that the Beatitudes are not a “code of conduct” or an ascetic way, but are we capable of finding the joy that overcomes suffering and distress, the joy that proceeds from God alone? Do we receive and live by Jesus’ attitude of conscious and responsible acceptance of God’s plans in spite of their demands? Holy Family Parish Hall Saturday Nov. 14th 10a.m.-3p.m. 20 Vendors, Bake Sale Tables, Over 25 Raffle Prizes to be Won! Enjoy Lunch at our Café! Thank you for your generosity. Saint John Bosco Patron of Youth and Schoolchildren. St. John Bosco was born on August 16th 1815 in a small town in Italy. He was ordained to the priesthood in 1841 and went to work in Turin. He dedicated his life to poor and troubled youth and began youth clubs for them. He then started boarding schools, where he taught them trades. In 1859 he founded the Salesian Society, and in 1872 the Salesian Sisters to work for girls. John Bosco died on January 31, 1888. He was declared a saint on April 1, 1934 by Pope Pius XI. This year our parish will be presenting a new Saint each month. Resources and information about these saints can be found on the website. Cut out the below prayer, put it on your fridge, and then bring it to Mass with you. This prayer will be said at all Masses for the month. Prayer: Dear Jesus, Saint John Bosco pointed people to you and as a result many lives were changed for the better. Help my life and my actions to also point others to You in the same way. I unite my prayers with this dear saint, especially on behalf of young people everywhere.
