DIRECTORS’ NOTE
Le théâtre dans son ensemble renferme beaucoup d’images. Difficile de le
définir en quelques mots… C’est, à première vue, un spectacle, une
performance éphémère, la prestation d'un comédien devant des
spectateurs qui regardent, un travail corporel, un exercice vocal et gestuel
adressés… Des conventions qui sont là pour être tour à tour respectées,
détournées, transgressées, parce que le théâtre repose sur le jeu, sous
toutes ses formes. Et plus simplement, un moment, dans un lieu particulier
où l’on vient se raconter une histoire collective.
Il faut donc entreprendre une représentation avec toutes les difficultés que
cela mêle : les points de vue qui constituent le théâtre sont larges et infinis.
Les élèves ont travaillé toute l’année pour créer une histoire et vous la
présenter. Et dans cette perspective, nous comprenons mieux que les liens
qui nourrissent le jeu sont avant tout composés d'individus nombreux,
socialement, hiérarchiquement distincts et variés, et surtout que c'est sur
eux que repose principalement la pérennité du théâtre. Sans public, il n’y a
pas de représentation… Merci à tous d’être venus.
Theatre as a whole contains many images. It is difficult to define in a few
words. It is, at first glance, a show, an ephemeral performance, that of an
actor in front of a watching audience, a physical work of art, a vocal
exercise and a gestural expression… Conventions that are here to be
respected, diverted, transgressed, because theatre relies on play, in all its
forms. And more simply, a moment, in a specific place where we come to
tell each other a collective story...
Therefore a performance should be undertaken with all the difficulties
implied: views about theater are wide and infinite. The students have been
working all year long to create a story and present it to you. And in that
perspective, we understand better that the links that provide the play are
above all composed by various individuals, socially and hierarchically
distinct, and varied, and above all that the theatre's longevity depends on
them. No audience, no show… Thank you all for coming.

Résumé : le texte, écrit ensemble à partir de supports divers et d’improvisations,
raconte l’histoire d’artistes venus du monde entier présenter leurs numéros dans
un cabaret surprenant. Tout se déroule comme prévu ou presque, jusqu’à
l’annonce d’une nouvelle qui va tout bouleverser.
Summary: play written together from multimedia material and improvisation about
artists from all around the world coming together to perform in a surprising
cabaret. Everything goes as planned, or almost, until a special announcement
changes everything.

un cabaret surprenant. Tout se déroule comme prévu ou presque, jusqu’à
l’annonce d’une nouvelle qui va tout bouleverser.
Summary: play written together from multimedia material and improvisation about
artists from all around the world coming together to perform in a surprising
cabaret. Everything goes as planned, or almost, until a special announcement
changes everything.

DIRECTORS’ NOTE
Le théâtre dans son ensemble renferme beaucoup d’images. Difficile de le
définir en quelques mots… C’est, à première vue, un spectacle, une
performance éphémère, la prestation d'un comédien devant des
spectateurs qui regardent, un travail corporel, un exercice vocal et gestuel
adressés… Des conventions qui sont là pour être tour à tour respectées,
détournées, transgressées, parce que le théâtre repose sur le jeu, sous
toutes ses formes. Et plus simplement, un moment, dans un lieu particulier
où l’on vient se raconter une histoire collective.
Il faut donc entreprendre une représentation avec toutes les difficultés que
cela mêle : les points de vue qui constituent le théâtre sont larges et infinis.
Les élèves ont travaillé toute l’année pour créer une histoire et vous la
présenter. Et dans cette perspective, nous comprenons mieux que les liens
qui nourrissent le jeu sont avant tout composés d'individus nombreux,
socialement, hiérarchiquement distincts et variés, et surtout que c'est sur
eux que repose principalement la pérennité du théâtre. Sans public, il n’y a
pas de représentation… Merci à tous d’être venus.
Theatre as a whole contains many images. It is difficult to define in a few
words. It is, at first glance, a show, an ephemeral performance, that of an
actor in front of a watching audience, a physical work of art, a vocal
exercise and a gestural expression… Conventions that are here to be
respected, diverted, transgressed, because theatre relies on play, in all its
forms. And more simply, a moment, in a specific place where we come to
tell each other a collective story...
Therefore a performance should be undertaken with all the difficulties
implied: views about theater are wide and infinite. The students have been
working all year long to create a story and present it to you. And in that
perspective, we understand better that the links that provide the play are
above all composed by various individuals, socially and hierarchically
distinct, and varied, and above all that the theatre's longevity depends on
them. No audience, no show… Thank you all for coming.
