As you may be aware, we are a management school run
by the renowned PSG & Sons’ Charities Trust. So you
will find things a bit different here. For instance, our
primary goal is to give back to the society. Hence the
focus is on the overall development of our students into

PSG IM started off in 1966 as the Department of
Management Sciences at the PSG College of Technology.
PSG Tech is renowned in its own right with its alumni

By 1995, we had evolved into a full-fledged, autonomous
management institute, affiliated to the Anna University
of Tamil Nadu.
Today, we offer full time and part time MBA programs
in Management, PG Diploma in Management and

get the Platinum Ranking International Certification by
MAC International Educational Standards, Singapore.

Program yourself for success
A pioneer in imparting quality education and training at
all levels for the past several decades, we have been
offering the Master of Business Administration (MBA)
program since 1951.
Structure of the course
You start from a general core and progress to special
elective studies. It covers all the essential functional skills
for a manager. To complete the course, you must submit a
project based dissertation that will demonstrate your ability
to think and act strategically while tackling real and
complex organisational problems. The teaching methods
use case studies and extensive group work, which help you
develop the self confidence and assurance necessary to

Teaching Methodology
A focus on a purely application based curriculum sets
PSG IM apart from other business schools. The
institute's teaching methodology is designed to make you
industry-ready, and is customised to suit the conditions
prevailing in the industry. We have a mix of lectures,
seminars, case studies, quizzes and mini projects that
help develop your analysing, presentation, timemanagement and teamwork skills. Every session of
personality development, case analysis and presentation
classes is conducted in a manner to give you a real world
experience. Your practical exposure is enhanced by
industry experts. The Yoga class, an interesting part of
the Personality Development program, has been made
mandatory. It teaches you how to manage stress, gain
control over your mind and body, and will stand you in
good stead in the future.
Industry Visits
You will visit many industries as an integral part of
management studies. This glimpse of the industry gives
you practical exposure in real time, and helps to
understand management operations to a great extent.
You also get an opportunity to interact with the
executives of the companies and receive practical inputs.
Research Projects
The success of any business depends greatly on
teamwork and innovation. So we incorporate consultancy
projects as part of the curriculum. You can undertake
this either individually or as part of a team formed with
other students. This enhances your appreciation of
management concepts, which are applied practically in
the research involved.
MOU with Harvard Publishing
We have an MOU with Harvard Publishing to use
all Harvard cases for teaching. This enables the
students to work on cutting-edge management
topics and to apply theories in real world scenarios.
Summer Project
Stepping into the company which one prefers and
studying the various aspects of how the business functions
is in fact the dream of any person. An important aspect
of this course is that every student is required to undergo
summer project training in an organisation and work in
his or her area of interest for a period of 8 weeks.
International Visits
Towards gaining international exposure, the
students are provided with an opportunity to go on
an international visit during their period of study.
ALPS (Active Learning Program Service)
Major Project
Learning from experiences will be a key aspect of your
future life as a manager. To facilitate this, we have
incorporated a final project in the curriculum whereby
you are given an opportunity to extract and improve
upon your skills. It is to be taken up in the sixth
trimester. This will help give you a deeper understanding
of the business world and practices.
To improve the leadership capabilities of the
students, they are exposed to ALPS. The students
camp at our specially developed ALPS Centre,
situated at the foothills of the western ghats,
wherein, they involve in various behavioural
development, teamwork, experimental learning and
rejuvenation activities, guided by trained facilitators.

The Post Graduate Diploma in Management is specially
focused to helping line managers upgrade themselves
with management skills that will help them move up the
managerial ladder from a purely technical environment.
Structure of the course
PGDM is a two year program that quick-fits line managers
with managerial skills. It covers management skills that
managers should equip themselves with that will
complement their current technical profiles. The course
structure incorporates real work environment cases that
will demonstrate your ability to think and act strategically.
