Beginning Aug. 3, we will be introducing charges for digital
subscriptions for those who do not subscribe to the print edition.
In doing so, we will join a growing number of small and large
newspaper companies across the country that have taken this step,
including the New York Times, the Dallas Morning News and the
Omaha World-Herald. A recent University of Missouri survey found
that at the papers in the United States that don’t charge for online
news content, only 15 percent had no plans to charge in the
near future.
As with other papers that have begun charging for premium
content, we view this move as an investment in the future so that
we can continue our journalistic mission of offering a credible
report of news, information and opinion. No other organization
can match the Star-Advertiser’s breadth and depth of Hawaii news,
and revenue derived from digital subscriptions will contribute to a
continuing investment in journalists and technology.
Again, all subscribers to the Star-Advertiser print edition will have
access at no additional charge to all content at staradvertiser.com
on your computer, smartphone and tablet.
All Access will entitle you to:

This is an exact replication of the printed newspaper (similar to a
