What is a Virtual Rack?
The Virtual Rack brings together several virtual servers
(whatever their number and physical location in our data
center) and connects them to a virtual switch within the
same private network. Your servers can communicate
privately and securely between each other (in a dedicated VLAN).

You don’t need to worry about renting a rack in a data center, ordering a server
and switches, as well as installing and maintaining hardware. The Virtual Rack feature
means OVH.com manages your network and hardware infrastructure and lets you
concentrate on your core business. Even better, the Virtual Rack is more flexible than
a physical one, and can contain any number of servers. You decide, when it suits you,
to add (or remove) a server to your Virtual Rack.
High Availability

How can I place an order for a Virtual Rack?
The Virtual Rack is compatible with all
1 Gbps and 10 Gbps servers of EG, MG and HG ranges. You can individually
select the servers you want to add or remove from your Virtual Rack,
directly from your Manager.
How and how long will my Virtual Rack take to be setup?
After the payment of your order has been confirmed, we will automatically
connect each server you want to your virtual switch.
Downtime of the server is almost undetectable (3 seconds, this is the time
required to reconfigure your network). Your server will not be rewired, or
moved and will continue to operate as before!
You will then receive an email with the information details for how to start
using the network of your Virtual Rack.
